South County Motors is one of the few that could handle suspension work on a 4 wheel drive Mercedes. When I picked up the car, they truly had solved the problem. Two other places attempted to solve since September and their and quot;fixand quot; failed after 2000 miles.

I dropped car at 8:30am. In 2 hours time, I was called by Geri with details and estimate. I asked if the car would be ready that day and was told it would be close because specialty parts had to be ordered. I said I wasn't looking forward to renting a car for another day. I stopped on my way home at 5:45 and they were still working on my car but the service manager said I should return around 6:30 and it will be done. They stayed to finish it. When I came back, George was still there and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong and showed me each part and how it contributed to cause the problem

These people are honest, won't gouge you, and are very knowledgeable about foreign cars. They are trustworthy and very helpful when your car breaks down. They go beyond what many auto service dealers do and they care about the people they serve.
They are a rare breed,---old fashioned customer service!

They never called with an estimate. I initially got a bill for $400 and something and then they told me they forgot to bill me for labor which was another $500. I had to take the car to another place and pay $1000 to get it all running and right. When they changed the oil dispenser they did not fix it properly and I lost a ton of oil from the car and I had to have the car towed back there. I took another car to him because at that time I owed another $500 and we told him that it was the starter that needed replacement. He replaced the starter and the minute I called him and told him the car wasn't starting and it was the same problem as it was when I brought it in, he said that he threw out the old starter even before I asked for it. That car had to go back again and I would never ever use him. They appeared to be a small family owned business but they don't give an estimate and they are negligent with their work. I have no idea about the price; I got no break down regarding the labor or anything. They were supposed to get me an estimate and I was not feeling well so I didn't bother going through the motor department. I asked if I could have a detailed bill and I never got it. If you are punctual and you don't do the job right it makes no sense. I don't think anyone would be happy taking their car there and then having to take it to somebody else and spend $1000 more to have them running. I got my car out and there was no oil in it and it was a Mercedes and it could have blown my engine. It was running like a cement mixer. I had to tow it to my old mechanic in Connecticut which I got another bill of $900 to get it running right. After they left no oil in my Mercedes when I approached them with my Saub which was exhibiting the same problem he wanted me to have it towed down. I told him at this juncture he should be paying for the tow because the car wouldn't even start or anything. I was not happy either. I felt I was really taken advantage of. I went online and seen that he also sells cars and I wish I would have seen it before. It was another incident that sounded just like mine about replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced. The starter on my Saub was cost me $450 when I don't think it needed one. I don't know how to determine that because he threw it away.

They are great at everything they do. They are honest and competitive. Their prices are fair.
