They got back to me and gave an estimate, came back the next day to do the work, they replaced 6 shingles for $100.00, after the work the price got up to 225.00, I was supposed to pay by credit card, a service charge will be added that jack up the price to $300.00. The shingles were replaced good, but I was not happy with the final price, because they changed the price after the work was done and the additional charge is a reap-off.

What I liked: The final result seems very good. They did the work same week I contacted them. Communication was good when they decided to delay due to forecast storms. They use ice and water shield around the entire perimeter of the roof, a good measure to prevent ice dams. The used new flashing and rebuilt the flashing on the garage. Nailing and shingle alignment was good. The entire job (a ranch house with addition and sunroom) was done in one day. They covered the lawn and cleaned up well. Everyone was friendly and tolerant of my hovering. The less-than-perfect: 1) The possible cost adders were discussed at the outset with charges verbally defined, but the add-on invoice did not itemize and I could not make the math work to what they said the items would cost. It seemed high for what was described. 2) Some false claims led me to worry about workmanship. Their web site claims they are GAF certified and VELUX certified installers. "We are certified by VELUX to install new skylights, and our skilled masons flash and re-point chimneys." and "We are certified by the manufacturers and the distributors. We are certified to install and warranty EPDM and TPO systems. Ocean Breeze Property Services provides a transferable ten year warranty for any installation defect for all labor provided in addition to standard manufacturer’s warranties. [*** Link removed ***] That all sounds great but: neither GAF and VELUX web sites list Ocean Breeze as being certified when I looked them up on both sites. That made me plenty uneasy and wondered what other BS was lurking. Another example, Andy talked a lot about warranty, but the quote had zero mention of warranty. I asked, and he told me I would get warranty info at the end, but then was not provided with any written warranty document, and when I asked about it was told that they always stand by their work. Perhaps they do, but with only marketing statements in their web site, I don't have much leverage if they screw up and GAF decides that they improperly installed the roof and the GAF warranty claim is denied. What am I supposed to think? Were they once certified? Was the guy at my house certified? Were the sub contractors certified? Their unsubstantiated claims of certification and lack of warranty paperwork is both misleading and unprofessional. I am the one that gets screwed years down the road, as has already happened on half the construction jobs I have had over the years. The end result looks good from what I can tell. Perhaps Ocean Breeze work will be durable and I have nothing to worry about, but all I have to is crossing my fingers. 3) I was really concerned about serious internal communication breakdown: Had I not personally stood on the roof, a legacy carpentry error and roof leak problem would not have been addressed as promised. These three leak issues were discussed extensively with Andy and Andrew when I signed on for the job, and there was lots of talk of theories and about how they would dig into this, debug the problem , and do whatever carpentry etc is needed to fix it. The serious error, neither Andy or son Andrew supervised the actual work. They hired a sub contractor for the work and called in another employee to supervise. The on-site supervisor did not know anything about these issues and this improper carpentry issue would have been covered over had I not climbed the later and stopped the crew from simply replacing the shingles. The would have NOT been fixed because sheathing had to ultimately be lifted and added hidden flashing had to ultimately be in stalled. I am happy to say this worked, but it felt like a disaster averted. I am sure that this team has done and can do fine work. A lot of very good work was done at my house by clearly experienced staff of the sub contractor. In fact, I would hire them again, but I would insist on much more detailed documentation on the scope of work and I would still hang around to be sure they did the work. Like many contractors I have worked with before, the execution was not going to match the promises.

Two young men came and they were very professional. They did quite well.

They quoted me one price and charged different price with 20% credit card fee. The guys that were here were friendly but I think I got scammed. I am not happy with them.

Took care of it in short order. A week after work, we had another windstorm and a few shingles blew off. They came out in the middle of the windstorm to put new ones on.

It was great. I called them and came out quickly. And did the job on the same day they gave me a quote.

They did a great job! I will recommend them and use them, again.

They were very professional and personable. This is the second project I've met with this company for and this time was a roof repair for storm damage when a tree caught the roof edge. They were very responsive and pricing was competitive. We are so happy with the completed repair, and the patched in shingles are a perfect match. You can't even tell there was previous damage! I'd highly recommend working with this family run business.

We hired because of the experience in the business. They were communicative in the contract and money stage and I received a number of calls during this time. On the scheduled day of the work I was not present as this is a rental but they promised to send pictures. I had thought they canceled due to a big snow storm coming the next day and the possibility that the work could take two days. When I arrived the following weekend I saw they had done the roof but I could not see the work due to snow. They called for their payment that Saturday. They said they forgot my number on the day of the work. My fault I should have called the office to double check and ask for the pictures real time that day. However even when back at the office they had not sent. I had to insist on pictures before paying. The pictures only showed the stripped roof. They did not show the new plywood decking or the completed roof and were only sent when I insisted before payment. I would have appreciated real time pictures on the day of the work as promised. I will update my review when I can see the work on the roof dormer about which I have the most concern. Communication not so good by the work crew.

The company provided excellent communications. We were notified a few days prior to work beginning which allowed me to make arrangements with work and let my daughter know that works would be around the house. The workers were on time, friendly and very professional. They took great care when removing the old roofing material and installing the new material. After the work was finished, the crews clean up was excellent.  Two days later I can't even tell I had workers on my roof or on my property. They left the work area and property around the house in better condition they before the work began. We now have a beautiful roof and skylight and looking forward to the first rain storm where our roof won't leak. 

They were terrible.

They showed up on time, and did a decent job. I believe they could have done their work a little faster, however we have had no problems with our roof. I, overall, was pleased with their work.
