NEW ENGLAND TREE CLEARING

I had a really bad experience with them. We had contacted a number of tree service people to come and give us an estimate to cut down a large tree in the backyard of our property that was leaning and was in danger of falling on our garage roof. New England Tree Clearing called me and said that they were coming to give an estimate and they came. They did not knock on the door when I was inside. My kids came and told me that there was a man wandering in the backyard. My kids asked him who he was and he told them that he had come to take a look at the job to be done. I assumed that he would come to the door afterwards, but he did not. He just left and we never got the estimate. Couple of weeks later I got a call in the evening from their office saying that they were going to be late tomorrow to take down the tree. We had never got the estimate or talked to them or given them the job. I told them that they can show up if they want, but I am not giving them the job. They actually showed up the next day. They did not knock on the door and directly went to take the tree down. Fortunately we noticed them. They were going to take the tree down without our permission and without we giving them the job. It was awful. They work with this other tree service Mike’s Tree Service and I got a call from this guy Mike yelling at me saying his guys were wasting their time and how dare I not let them take the tree down. When we finally found out about their price we ended up getting two different prices, but nothing in writing. They did not confirm anything. A person in the office gave me tremendous attitude. That guy Mike was very rude.
