They agreed and signed to this agreement with us.
$300 for the ramp wood
$200 for paint for 2 inside windows
$500 for labor $1,000 to start
Labor and materials was paid to them in advance before the job began. $500 for
labor and $500 for materials, paid by a check for $1,000.
We decided just painting 2 inside windows and replacing boards on the ramp for our shed, 11 pressure treated boards 5 1/2" x 1" x 48.
They only spent $175 plus tax on materials.
They pocketed money equaling $325, out of the $500 that was intended for materials only.
They worked only:
3 1/4 hrs on Monday 12/24 including 2 hrs.buying materials, left early excuse
Christmas shopping.
3 hrs on Wednesday 12/26 left early, excuse another appointment.
1 1/4 hrs on Friday 12/28.
They only worked 71/2 hours in a 3 day period.
Then they came back demanding more money for materials and said they applied that money to labor, and now demanded $250 per day over and above the $500 we already gave them for labor and said even if not a full days work, and also gas money each day.
For example 2 hours work, $250 plus the $500 given in advance and gas money.
They did not live up to the contract agreement written and signed by them.
They owed us $325 for materials since they only spent $175 plus tax. They argued and left saying we cheated them.
They took $500 plus $325 = $825 for 71/2 hrs work.
We did touch up for several hours the next day because the sides of the windows were missed completely, and after the second coat the wood still showed through the paint.
