chimney repair
 + -1 moreTodd did his usual fantastic job (he has done other major work for us as well) on this project. The deck's framing is overbuilt to handle that additional weight of the hardwoods, for example, the footings aren't just cement-filled sonotubes, each of them also has a half-height steel lolly column sunk into the cement to which the joists are lag-bolted. The result is a ROCK SOLID platform.
Description of Work: Built a new deck off our kitchen. All Ipe and mahogany woods coated with 3 coats of C2 Guard, new french door, motion sensor security lights around the house, new clapboard and paint, small roof over the door, new Tyvek and insulation on that side of the house.

 + 4 moreWe're going to be using them shortly. Todd is a high value person. His price is the same as his price in other places. Everything was what we wanted on the roof, the kinds of other things that have to be done in order to fix the roof, etcetera. His price is extremely fair and reasonable. It has been excellent. He's very good. He's pretty much an all around type of guy. He's an incredibly talented carpenter. He's excellent. The downside is he's a one man company so he has a waiting list. His finished work is amazing. Once he's there, he's there and he's very responsive but you might have a long wait.
Description of Work: Burton Carpentry put in a new roof in our house the last time we used him. He also took a dead chimney down. He also did complete gutter replacement. He also solved a snow problem that arose between the chimney and a dormer and he built a new little structure around it. He also did remodeling and he did our porch. He also did our kitchen.
