You wonâ t find a more honest, more professional or more skilled excavator/operator than Matt Mello, owner of South Shore excavation. Matt has now done two big jobs for me, the first being to rip out the old floor in our 4-car garage and install a new floor, the second being to dig up/expose and waterproof the garage foundation. In both cases, Mattâ s pricing was extremely fair, he delivered 100% on his promises, finished the work in a timely manner and left an immaculate job site every day. I really canâ t recommend Matt Mello & South Shore Excavation highly enough. very competent. new exactly what to do and finished the job under poor weather conditions. Rather amazing on how quickly he located the water leak and repaired same.

Extremely professional and wonderful to work with. Showed up to give me an estimate and because my job was not an emergency and on the small side, we agreed that he would fit me when he had a chance. He kept in contact during that time and when an opening presented itself was here and completed the job perfectly. I would absolutely refer to my friends and family.

Matt and his team came and got me out of a jam when every other landscaper I spoke with let me down. He did exactly what I needed him to at a price I could afford. There was no frustration, no b.s. To put it simply I can't recommend him enough and there's no doubt I will be using him for all my future projects.

The normal lifecycle of working with anyone who does work on your house is: they do work, you inspect work, you see there's an issue, you bring the issue to the person doing the work, they try to convince you it's not a problem (even though it obviously is), you argue back and forth painstakingly until they finally fix what you asked them to, The lifecycle of working with South Shore Excavation is: they do amazing work, you feel fantastic about it. I have never worked with anyone who took such pride in their work as Matt and John. They were extremely hardworking, transparent on their progress and pricing throughout the project, and provided incredible customer service. I would recommend South Shore Excavation to anyone looking for any of the work they handle. I legitimately can't say enough great things about this company.

Excellent. Matt Mello and his crew were courteous, responsive and very professional. I was told exactly what to expect yet the final product exceeded my expectations.

Matt and John did a wonderful job. We needed our lawn leveled and seeded, a old tree trunk removed, and a curved sidewalk poured. In fact, they were also working on a friend's sidewalk job just down the road from us. They scheduled both our sidewalk pour and our friend's just so the cost of the overall concrete was kept at a reasonable price. They took their time and didn't rush. I did my due-diligence and obtained multiple quotes for the job. (I actually had one contractor imply the job might be too small for him.) Matt handles large jobs! But he will also take the small ones. I do not feel you'll go wrong with South Shore Excavation!

Excellent work. Only nit was I needed to do some cleanup of the existing driveway after the equipment was gone. He will come back as needed to make sure the project is to your liking, and goes above and beyond to do a good job the first time.

Matt is a respectable and reliable person. Wouldn't recommend anybody else to do the job. He is very detailed, on time and a very hard worker. Extremely nice and honest. He will get the job done at a reasonable price. We absolutely love our patio and spend the majority of our summer days using it.
