"The reason my company did not bid your job is simple .. we didn't want the job. It was never a question of guaranteeing the work. Your building has two roofs on it; a T&G and a APP. The insulation under both roofs is wet. Both roofs had to be removed, which you did not do .. you went over the old roof. I've been consulting for insurance companies for over 30 years as to why roofs fail. The owner hired an out-of-state roofer, Pride Exteriors, who didn't bother to pull a permit from the Town of Smithfield for the job; bad decision. The new roofer also did not have liability and worker's compensation insurance which is a RI State requirement with the Contractor's Board. The owner had someone scrap the paint off the building who was not a lead safe remodeler/renovator. Paint chips all over the parking lot. I told him about it and also had to tell him his cesspool was running into the swamp. I performed many repairs on this building to which the owner was never charged.....many, many favors. My company was told to repair, repair, repair by the owner as he did not want to spend any money to properly replace the roof."
