Elias from West Roxbury showed up. Explained the reason we were not getting any heat upstairs was bc I had an old thermostat. He replaced it - and still I could not get heat. He spent time examining my heating system but he did not set the thermostat correctly (he thought heating was electric and it is oil) he also said he was 80% sure it was the transformer. It was not. I called my oil supplier who came over, reset the brand new thermostat, tuned on both heating systems (Elias turned them off and never turned them back on) and then he got the hot water pipe on my furnace to flow hot water. That was the problem. Elias thought that my furnace only heated my water tank. My issue is if you didn't know what was going on with certainty, you should have never replaced the thermostat in the first place (it wasn't that old - only 6 yrs and the exact same on as downstairs which was working). He left my house, I still did not have heat, and charged me $400. This was an awful experience that required me to hire another person who left when my heat was working, and charged me a fraction of the $400 originally charged. I should at least be credited the $175 service call charge bc I did not get service.
