I am going to report the facts and let you be the judge. I had called 4 electricians about installation. For various reasons, I needed the fan installed within two weeks. Bob was the only one who was able to do the job within that timeframe. I was thankful. Bob called me sometime around the time he was supposed to arrive for the repairs, to tell me he didn't have the address. I know we discussed where I lived while on the phone, but we may not have discussed the exact address. Maybe I was supposed to text him the exact address, after I spoke with him on the phone. I truly don't remember. He arrived an hour later than our agreed upon time. If he didn't have my address maybe he should have called or texted well before the agreed upon arrival time. When we were arranging the appointment, he told me that he was going hunting in the morning. When he arrived at the house, I was just glad he had arrived, asked him about his hunting trip and he told me that he didn't go hunting. He had worked instead. As I mentioned above, I already had a fan in place that was vented to the outside of the house, so the outside vent and hose was in place. Since the new fan runs continuously , then switches to a higher speed when needed, there was an additional switch needed on the switchplate...extra wire...don't know the electrical details since I am not an electrician. The job took 4 hours for the installation. I was surprised that it took so long since the existing fan was already vented outside. I know Bob was working because I was at home working right next to that area of the house. Bob had quoted me $65/hour for the work. I don't question that he was working the entire time. I question his expertise since it took 4 hours. I am not an electrician, so maybe it just takes that long. He did tell me that I had a couple of thick layers of insulation in my attic. He did not warn me about potential holes in the ceiling. As he was walking out of the house, after completing the installation, with the last of his things, I went into the bathroom and noticed two holes in the ceiling just above the wall switches because the insulation was falling through them onto the floor. One is about the size of a half dollar and the other is the size of a quarter. I asked about the holes, and he said that two joists were next to one another an he didn't know which to drill through. He picked the wrong one twice, I guess, which resulted in the two holes in the ceiling. If I had not noticed the holes, I believe he would have taken payment and left without telling me. I was feeling uneasy about things so I agreed to pay him when I received the invoice by email. I also wasn't able to get the fan to switch speeds, and I knew I wanted to call the manufacturer to be sure it was installed correctly. He agreed with my request. I called the manufacturer, and the fan is connected correctly. I received the invoice by email. Bob charged me for 5 hours of work. He arrived at 1pm and left at 4:50. When questioned why 5 hours of labor, he said he was charging me for 1 hr. of travel time to the job. He doesn't charge for travel home... only the time to travel to the job. Bob's business address is Saunderstown. I live in Narragansett on the other side...a 10 minute drive. Perhaps Bob was working 1 hour from Narragansett. I told him I think he should either warn his customers that he would charge travel time and how much. I would also be sure to choose a day he was working locally if I had known that I would incur the cost. He did remove that hour of travel time from my bill as compensation for the holes in the ceiling, but he said they were caused by the insulation and ductwork being in the way. Perhaps 4 hours of installation time for a fan/light is expected. I am not an electrician. Perhaps arriving 1 hour late because he didn't have my address is ok. Perhaps two holes in my ceiling can be expected at times given ductwork and insulation. Perhaps he forgot to tell me that the holes were in the ceiling and intended to tell me before he collected payment. Maybe he didn't need to tell me in advance that he charges an additional $65 for travel time. I will let you be the judge and welcome Bob's response. I will put a check in the mail today for the adjusted amount. I did feel the need to post a review since I did obtain Bob's name from Angie's list and Angie's list is intended to help consumers make wise decisions.

He was very professional and punctual. The price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend him.
