These guys know their trade and do excellent work.

I had a pretty difficult house and floor plan to work with (100+ years old), but they managed to design a seamless, efficient, and beautiful heating system to replace the ancient one. I say beautiful in particular, because the old cast iron pipes (some wrapped in asbestos) were everywhere and such an eye-soar, and they managed to design the duct runs in such a way that I actually want to finish my basement now. The difference is amazing.

While it did pain me to get rid of the steam system (radiant heat is a little more comfortable), I definitely wouldn't have done it any differently now. I've gone from $250-400/month on gas heating bills to $30-85/month, and gained a good amount of bonus space in the floor plan without the radiators. The on-demand water heater also reduced my base bill from ~$100+ to $20/month, though it of course takes ~20s or so to heat up when you first turn on hot water. 

Their price was pretty fair and competitive, and about average compared to the other quotes I received. However, I feel pretty confident that I wouldn't have received the same quality of work and results from the other providers.

The service and punctuation is also top-notch, and you can tell that Vic takes pride in it and his work.

My only qualm would be responsiveness, as it can be a little hit or miss. For the most part, every phone call was either answered or returned within a week. But, there were a couple of times when I didn't hear back and had to call or e-mail more than once. Overall though, they're still more responsive than most I've worked with thus far. 

Approximately one month after replacing the part and giving the thumbs up to the boiler it failed again. I had my handyman reach out to set up a service call and was told they would be out there 48 hours later. My tenants and I patiently waited the 48 hours and when I called him to see when he planned on going out there he refused to go (and I was hung up on). ZERO accountability and ZERO follow through. I would stay far away from this company.

VicMir had done an evaluation of our heating system about 3 years ago through an Angie's List special deal. I was impressed with how much the technician knew, how accessible and friendly he was, and how he readily answered my many questions and explained my heating system. When it came time to replace my boiler last month I expected VicMir would be my first choice, but as this was going to be a big job and, for my wife and me, a significant expense, I got 3 other quotes, as well.  (Turns out I got a lot of misinformation along the way, too, but that's another story.)  VicMir examined my old system, explained all the inefficiencies of it along with some of the risks involved in maintaining it, explained what they would do and how.  A few days later they emailed me a detailed quote.  Their quote was competitive, not the lowest, but I am more than satisfied that we got excellent value for our money. 
VicMir is a family business, a father and his 2 sons, and they are a pleasure to work with.  They were on time for the job on the 2 days it took to complete, encouraged me to check in from time to time if I wanted, and explained what they were doing as they went along.  They removed all of the old system and cleaned up thoroughly afterward.  They returned a few weeks later to do an initial drain and thorough check of the new boiler.  At that time they provided me with paperwork and a full explanation of how I can best maintain the system each month.  VicMir demonstrated what competence and professionalism are supposed to be.  My wife and I now feel worry-free with regards to heating our home.  I cannot recommend VicMir highly enough.

What a great experience, from beginning to end. As others have mentioned, the estimate process was by far the most professional and thorough of any of the companies I had called for this job, and in fact, probably of any job I've had an contractor propose an estimate for. He took great care in measuring the entire house to properly calculate the system required, the only one to do so. And he was very forthcoming about the challenge in getting the coils placed safely and securely in the restricted space over my oversized furnace (installed by the original owner) to the point of questioning whether it could be done at all. Others had told me it was a limited amount of space but it would be "no problem", but his concern rang true and I was glad he decided it could be done, having already determined these were the guys I wanted to do the job.
Installation was challenging at times, given the limitations on space, but they did an excellent job. Victor Sr even pointed out an area of ductwork near the that was rotting out from the inside (not visible until they had opened it up) and wasn't comfortable leaving it like that, so at cost or near to it they replaced that as well (no small task).
Every aspect of this experience was excellent and my only regret is forgetting to leave a review earlier (when I saw the company name come up today I knew I had to correct that). The system works great and my family has remained comfortable even on the summer's hottest days, thank you!

Vicmir was punctual, honest and very professional. The town inspector said that it was one of the best jobs he'd seen, as well as a plumber friend of ours  who said that they did an awesome job. It is a family run business and they are all very polite, genuine people. I recommend them to everyone that needs HVAC services.

I read the reviews here and it seemed the only concern was people had to call for an apopintment rather than contact through Angies List.  i called and left them a message and within a few hour they called back and left me a message.  I worked with Matt (i believe the owners son).  Matt great in responding.  We told him we just wanted a tune up on our system and he said no problem He scheduled a time that was best for us.  He was supposed to be at the house at 1 PM and he was there a couple minutes early ready to go.  He checked everything out and made sure everything was running smoothly.  There was a question about one of the units and he put a call into the manufacturer to confirm everything before we involved our builder.  Overall We could not be happier with the service professioanlism and the response from Vicmir, especially Matt.  I would recommend them to anyone based on the experience we had with them.

The workmanship was impeccable. I had received several estimates, and I deemed most of them quite high. I was delighted when Victor's estimate seemed reasonable, because he also seemed the most knowledgeable. And in the end, the work was done promptly and expertly. I would definitely use him again, and I recommend him highly. I don't usually write reviews, but I was inspired to write one this time.

I was in need of a central air conditioning system.  I had obtained 4 quotes.  First impressions mean alot when choosing a contractor.  My appointment for the estimate was at 10am and Vic was there at 9:50.  Vicmir was the only contractor who took the time to calculate the exact system required of my home.  Vic measured every room and every window.  He measured all the insulation R values in the walls, ceilings, windows and floors.  All the data was entered into a software program that designed and calculated the exact system to fit my house.  Being an engineer myself, I knew that this was the proper way of designing an a/c system.  Vic spent about 2 hours at my house doing the calculations and answering any questions I had.  I was impressed with the level of detail that was provided for the estimate.  2 of the other contractors that gave me estimates were done in 20 minutes and didn't take any measurements.  Vic quoted me a 3.5 ton system based on the calculations.  2 of the other contractors quoted me a 5 ton system from no measurements.  A 5 ton system would have been the incorrect solution for my house.  It is imperative that an a/c system is sized properly.  If it is sized too big it will short cycle and not be able to remove enough humidity from the air.  Because Vic did the calculations and quoted the 3.5 ton system, his quote was actually the lowest.  Needless to say I went with VicMir.  He won on best design and best price.  They were able to start work the next week.  They were there everyday as promised.  The first day they walked through the entire design with me and obtained my input where needed, showing me where all the supplies and returns would be placed, where the condenser would go outside, and where the thermostat would be positioned.  The next 4 days they installed the system.  They took the time to put down drop cloths and contain any dust that might happen from installing the registers.  The house is a 2000 sq ft ranch.  So it was a pretty big system.  They took the time to do the job right.  Vicmir is a father/sons business.  That was another characteristic I was looking for.  I wanted a contractor who was the owner.  A contractor who takes pride in his work.  Vic and his 2 sons were professional, friendly, and hardworking.  I was very pleased with the end result and will definitely be using their services in the future.

Prompt and easy interaction. The price was clearly told before the service started, and stayed within the quote. The service man showed up when he said he will show, not wasting anyone's time. Communication was excellent.

The representatives that came out was helpful and thorough. He gave suggestions about how to improve efficiency of the furnace.

We have used them several times. It went well. They were responsive. They came once and did a great job. The people who came out and saw me were courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. They were thorough and available. They have been out to see the due service two or three different times. I will continue to use them in the future.

We woke up this morning to NO heat...stressful when you have a 9 month old and it's New Year's Eve.  We called them this morning around 7:30AM and Vic came over within a couple hours. He actually had the day off but because his guys were busy, he stepped in to help us.  He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and fixed the furnace quickly by replacing the switch and line.  He also explained exactly what the issue was, how it happened and how he fixed it.  I know they don't have a ton of reviews yet, but they will be my go-to for now on to fix my heating and air conditioning when I have an issue. Call them- good people, and they do a good job- this is exactly what you want when trying to find someone to help you with these types of issues.

Everything went well, and I would definitely use their services again.  The technicians were professional, did the work as promised, and arrived on schedule.  The boiler is still running well, too.

We found VICMIR on Angie's list (AL) and requested that they contact us as one of 3 vendors we would be interviewing to replace our 2 steam boilers. Vic Jr. met us on time. He seemed to understand the importance of a contractor being on-time. Good first impression. We had many questions for him and his very thorough answers illustrated a deep understanding of steam boilers, which made us very comfortable. We asked when we might expect his written quote. I think we agreed that it would be around 2 or 3 days later. We received it on-time, as we expected. This contractor was building credibility.
Meanwhile, we were simultaneously seeking quotes from 2 other vendors. One vendor, the low-price contractor, had to be prodded a half-dozen times. He came highly recommended by a friend, but, despite the lower-price, we decided to stay away based on his behavior with us. A 3rd contractor was also highly recommended (on AL) and we were very impressed with his knowledge and we probably would have been fine (based on AL reviews) had we selected him. A couple of things bothered us, though, and it related to punctuality and accessibility. He was a bit difficult to reach. We had to make 2 appointments with him. The first was made by someone else for him and she set a one-hour window, which he missed by 15 minutes. He gave us a very good quote, however.  We set a second appointment for a very specific time (we stressed that there was no wiggle room in the time, and he agreed, again through the secretary). On the day of the appointment we received a call, from the secretary, 5 minutes after the scheduled 8:00 AM appointment saying that he was running 20 minutes late. We had to cancel. Again, his behavior told us what to do.
Now back to VICMIR. The quote we received was very detailed, and we had lots of questions. Page 2 of the quote, a checklist of sorts relating specifically to steam boilers, outlined VICMIR's specific installation and testing procedures. It was VERY impressive and informative. Although the quote was higher than the other quotes, it was clear that there were some extra items being addressed in the quote that the others ignored, either intentionally to keep the cost low to get the job, or unintentionally due to a lack of knowledge. The job is now complete and we are happy with the installation in all aspects. If needed, we will update this review in the coming months. We would have no hesitation in recommending VICMIR to anyone.

Vicmir were impressively professional from estimate to post-completion check. They offered transparent pricing, understanding of rebates and national schemes, flexibility and above all, unquestionable knowledge of the process. He went above and beyond to offer advice and suggestions throughout the decision-making process. Even when the project become more complex than planned, I knew I could trust Vicmir to provide support and impartial advice. I look forwarding to working with Vicmir again.

We had a VERY old gas boiler that was no longer safe. They gave us a very competitive price, did the work very quickly since it was getting cold, and were very responsive to all our questions. We had multiple quotes for the work and their price was fair and they were very knowledgeable. I would absolutely use them again.

They did a nice professional job. It took them a couple days to do it, but they did a nice job with wrapping the pipes. Also, after it was installed I thought I had an early issue and they were quick to respond. I was concerned the water wasn't automatically filling. They also did a tune up in the fall.

I contacted VicMir because I had decided to take advantage of the RI 0% heat loan and early boiler replacement program.  Vic Jr came to do the consult.  He was on time and thorough.  After interviewing other contractors,  I took about  a month to decide to go with VicMir.  Mostly because everyone told me to interview several contractors.  Considering I don't know much about boilers, I was just concerned with the price. And theirs was the most reasonable, and they take all major credit cards. I also had 2 split ductless heat pumps installed, which were not included in the loan. Vic, however, knows everything there is to know about boilers and hot water tanks!  I felt very confident that I was a picking a very knowledgeable contractor.
Because I took so long to pick a contractor, I was concerned because in order for me to take full advantage of the all the rebates they had to finish the work in a short amount of time.  Which, Vic assured me wouldn't be a problem.  To complicate things further, I went on vacation for 2 weeks during the time.  They came early and stayed late, and worked through lunch. They wound up having to come back an extra day to finish up, but everything was done on time.
I am very pleased with VicMir and would definitely refer them and use them again!

While I do have a service plan with them, the rapidity and efficiency of their service was second to none.   I know that VIC MIR has had to sustain losses as a result of the YORK products but they stand behind their service 100%.  I have never been more impressed and I feel badly at the way in which YORK has handled this.  This situation could have been a disaster for me but VIC MIR took care of everything.  I am now in the process of writing to YORK on behalf of VIC MIR because I find that their handling of this situation has been abysmal.
