Joel was great. He was responsive and punctual. He tuned a baby grand that had not been tuned in years and brought it up to pitch, answered my many questions, took a close look at everything going on with the piano, rescued a loose ivory that had gotten lost in the bowels of the piano and did other minor repairs all in the matter of a couple of hours. He was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to have in the house!

Joel responded to my email promptly and we were able to set up an appointment to have the work done within a week. He was prompt, right on time, professional and neat. He explained to me the basics on what factors cause a piano to get out of tune. Joel worked for about 2 1/2 hours on the piano - it hadn't been tuned in over 30 years or more. The piano sounds like it should now, no more dead keys and out of tune notes. He is an excellent piano player as well. I will call on him again for the next tuning, in about a year.

Mr. Levine came and tuned my piano. He came promptly and punctually after I called him, did excellent work, and charged a very reasonable amount.I would recommend him to anyone.

I called Mr. Levine from Angie's list, and he came over the same week. Even though it took him over two hours of work, more than he expected, he still only charged the price he had given initially - $100. He gave us a lot of information, and told some interesting stories about other pianos that he has worked on. He pointed out a few things we might want to do later, but in no way pressured us. In fact, he was very reassuring about the quality of the piano and its longevity. I will call him again in the fall for the next tune-up.

Joel responded to my email both via email and phone. He was easy to set-up an appointment, and gave me a brief overview of what we could expect for his visit. He was early for his appointment, went above and beyond to perform an exceptional tuning. The piano sounds amazing now. Joel was friendly, funny, and showed me how to do a few things on the piano myself if I felt compelled. He stuck to the agreed upon price for his service, but I know he did more than we had originally anticipated. If you need your piano tuned, call Joel!

Joel tuned an old piano we have and made it sound good again. He was totally honest in his assessment of the piano and its condition. He obviously knows his stuff. I would not hesitate to use him again and I recommend him highly.

The results, in my opinion, were miraculous! I had been prepared to discard the piano, which was still a lovely piece of furniture, but most keys were completely stuck, the wires attached to the pins were seriously out of proper tension, and the pitch was terrible when he arrived. Joel explained every step carefully, what made sense to do and what was too costly. He was courteous and professional. He removed and lubricated each key pad, and then began a labor intensive tuning of each key to proper pitch. This was a challenge because of many factors, but Joel acknowledged that he enjoys a challenge and loves his work. Three hours later, Joel packed up his tuning case, with a plan to return every six months for regular tuning maintenance. And, I had my piano back. It was miracle!

He charges less to tune a piano that's reasonably in tune but for this one he spent two hours and made an enormous improvement in it. So he charged a little more than his base fee but I thought it was reasonable for the work he did.

Joel did exactly what we hoped for-he gave us a reasonable, no-nonsense evaluation of our instrument and gave us good suggestions for the different kinds of repairs we could choose. He even made some initial repairs to show us what was possible. This is a guy who knows and loves pianos and wants to help people get the best from their instruments. He is knowledgeable, professional, and willing to go the extra mile. We will definitely use him again.
