This last session was another outstanding example of great customer service characterized by them patiently and gracefully listening to my problem, recommending a quick, inexpensive path to repair and doing the work with efficient professionalism at a time that was convenient for me.
Based on their advice I had recently upgraded the old hard drive on my MacBook Pro computer to a new Solid State Drive (SSD) - this produced a stunning improvement in speed and ease of use for all my applications. Now excited and off on my own I began downloading application updates and some new software and soon found myself confused, not sure if I had done things properly or in the best possible way to make things easy for me to work. I was noticing things clashing and features seemed to be missing. Things were off and I was clueless. I had obviously set things up wrong and had no idea what was wrong or why.
I contacted Tech Medic to get helping getting out of the hole that I had dug for myself and they asked a few key questions about what had occurred, what I was trying to achieve and when would be a convenient time to schedule a remote repair session where they could connect to my computer online and make repairs while I sat at home watching them work.
They were able to correct my mistakes and get things all set up in less than 30 minutes. In addition they arranged some programs and set up my desk top to meet my daily need more efficiently than I had done. It was a quick, easy repair and the result was even better than I hoped. Tech Medic has my highest recommendation for in home or online computer repair.
He devised a plan for my storage overhaul, advised me on which products to buy (a new internal hard drive and a RAM expansion kit). He provided me with a very thorough estimate (Not free -- I was billed for the 45 minutes that it took him to create it -- not my favorite part of the process/charges, though I wasn't comfortable to blindly hand over my equipment without knowing what he would do or how much it would cost.) We determined that the best course of action in my case would be to bring my computer and accessories to his shop. Utilizing the equipment and software there, he successfully upgraded my operating system and transferred my files from multiple hard drives, including a new one I ordered from my on-line backup service provider.
The job required several days, mainly because of the quantity of data (a photo library) that needed to be transferred. Once my computer was reassembled and fully operational with the complete data, Scott returned the equipment to me. He then spent about an hour helping me to set up my computer and confirm all was operational.
I waited a month to write this review to have some real-world experience with my upgraded computer to make sure everything worked -- and it does. This was a job that went beyond my level of knowledge and experience -- and I'm glad we were able to work together on my first project with a hired IT guy!
He is highly knowledgeable and competent. He has retrieved entire hard drives from crashed computers as well as advising us on back-up systems and security. In addition he repairs/maintains the computers of my mother-in law and several friends who all hold him in high esteem.
Scott is a sweet guy and somewhat of a techie n*** ( and I say that in the most loving way) so he is a perfect computer tech medic.
If he can't fix it, no one can.
I highly recommend Tech Medic for your computer service needs.
