TV Repair
I have an older (1997) TV/VCR combo unit that I am hoping not to have to replace. A tape got stuck in the VCR and I had no idea what was wrong. Smith Hill Electronics is a tiny storefront operation with perhaps only one employee, the owner. He was courteous and friendly and fixed my TV quickly. He said it had a broken gear. It works now, and he even salvaged the VHS tape! I was unable to get back to pick it up for a few weeks and he called to remind me that I hadn't come yet. The only downside was that the store doesn't open until 10 AM and when I arrived at 10 AM one morning to drop off my TV, the owner wasn't there yet. However, his cell phone number is posted in the window. I reached him and he arranged for me to leave the TV with the insurance agent who has an office next door. Probably wouldn't have been the best option if it had been a more valuable item.
