The man at the desk does not do the repair and seems to be eager to push tests and services. I'll go to Freddie's on Tybee Isalnd for now on. There I can speak directly to the mechanic.

I highly recommend them if you own a BMW, Mercedes, Audi or Porsche and you feel like the dealerships are a ripoff (and I believe many are). They diagnose problems well, since they specialize in these cars. They do good work at a reasonable price for luxury imports. I found them straightforward and trustworthy.
