I offer full service architectural design - design of homes, I will do research to help you with your decision (a very affordable way to find out, additions, before you commit to a project). I can measure your home or building and produce "as built" drawings to scale. Dave Sisson is a relative newcomer to Providence having been a successful architect already in Ithaca, New York. He is starting a new firm here in Providence. From the beginning he was an absolute professional. He was readily available for advice on the phone and immediately responsive to follow up calls but he was at his absolute best during the initial consultation where he spent a significant amount of time with us in the room just thinking through the dimensions and overall goals for the project. While his design and fee were a small portion of the project, this was about a $3000-$4000 total project which produced a major physical and aesthetic overall of the most important room in an est $500k house and his contribution is what ultimately turned a major problem in one wall of the room into a beautifully completed window and wall which changed the entire feeling of the room.
His thoughts on how the design should go, final pricing estimates, measurements, etc were all spot on. While this was a comparatively small project compared to his usual work, I would not hesitate to use him for much larger projects such as major home redesign or home additions if we are ever able to do so in the future. This was my first time using an architect for the design phase of a small project but I realize now how ultimately important it was to have such an intelligent and experienced designer on the team before proceeding on to hiring additional contractors.
