It's kind of an old school business but for certain things, it's very good. For one thing, I get keys made there because I can't stand going to the typical hardware store where they have some kid making the key and it doesn't work. I like the key to work the first time and American Locksmith is one of those places where it does. He also has the most amazing collection of key blanks that I've ever seen in my life. I've been using this company for a while. We have an old house where the hole for the doorknob isn't the standard hole that you can just go buy the doorknob at a hardware store and put it in. It's like the lock is a part of it like an old skeleton key lock. He rebuilds those at American Locksmith. If you have oddball hard to find answers to questions, that's a good place to know about. It makes him stand out. As a local business, there's some serious knowledge and experience there. He's very reasonable. The shop is old and unusual and kind of funky looking. People who are used to dealing with big national chains might be a little put off. He's certainly courteous and friendly.

I called American at about 8:40, ten minutes after their stated opening time. The phone was answered by an older gentlemen who I presumed to be the owner. He answered promptly, and asked a number of questions to get at the nature of my requests. He was not overly polite, but efficient and courteous. He made sure he understood exactly where my house was located, inquiring about side streets and intersections, rather than relying on GPS. When I asked if he could get the job done later that day, he promptly replied that it should not be a problem and that they'd do their best to get there by noon. Not only did he arrive at my house before noon, the job was finished by noon. Efficient service. Reasonable price. Left us asking why we didn't get the job done sooner. If we ever need ti done again, we will definitely call American.

Very responsive -- service performed within 24 hours of my initial contact with company. Bob arrived on time (called ahead to give us 30 minutes notice that he was on his way). Completely professional, leaving each work area exactly as he found it. A cheerful craftsman who appears to love his trade.

The job went very smoothly--Ferdie knew the house and lock having installed for a previous owner the then broken lock--and had with him the replacement lock needed, which he installed in half an hour and had the job completed in one visit.

Couldn't have gone better. The locksmith was prompt, competent, and very polite. He explained everything to me as he did it.

Though they were "swamped" they performed the work on time as they had agreed. I thought the cost was reasonable and the quality of the work was good.

It went very well. I would use them again. They exceeded my expectations.

American Locksmith promptly made an appointment to come to my house. They made good suggestions on security, and did not always recommend the most expensive solution if a cheaper one would do just as well. They also let me know the pros and cons of each decision. The work was done in a professional manner. I am happy with the results.

THE NEW LOCK LOOKS LIKE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE. I FOUND THE GUY WHO DID IT TO BE A VERY NICE INDIVIDUAL. HE MADE SURE THAT I UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND THAT I KNEW HOW TO USE THE NEW LOCK.

AFTER LOSING MY KEYS, IT WAS VITAL THAT I GET MY HOUSE LOCKS CHANGED AND THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE TO THE SITUATION. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO ENSURE THAT ALL THE LOCKS AND KEYS WERE MARKED FOR ME AND THAT THEY WORKED.
