I received a letter in the mail offering a package lawn service maintenance of 1 season. The company offered a $70.00 discount if you prepaid for the entire season by April, so I decided to give them a try and put it on my credit card.  On the first visit the tech. pulled his truck up onto a small section of the lawn that was half grass and half dirt.  I had just planted seeds the day before and tire tracks were left on the area. I found this rather odd that a lawn maintenance company would do such a thing. I was weary about the quality of the company and emailed them asking for a refund for the rest of the summer and not to come back to which they never responded.  Approx. 5 weeks later they came to do the second application and left the invoice with a sign on the lawn.  I was not happy that my email had been ignored.  With 2 applications already done and the lawn looking good I decided not to pursue a cancelation and finish the service. My lawn looked good up until the middle of June.  The third time they came I happen to be home and had some scattered crab grass and clover around the borders of the lawn with some large mushrooms and bear spots. At that time I noticed the serviceman using a powdered solution as opposed to a liquid solution that I was accustom to by lawn companies. I pointed out the problem areas to him and he went to his truck and got a canister with liquid fertilizer for those areas which were taken care of nicely however, the same problem happened over the next 2 months leaving my lawn looking shabby for the rest of the summer.  Over all last summer my lawn had too many weeds for service done by a professional company and it certainly wasn't thriving.  The company didn't do a bad job, they just did an okay job. The tech's that came were really nice, but I have to rate professionalism as a B for parking on the lawn.

We contracted with Lawn Doctor for two spring/summers (2010 & 2011) to provide fertilizing and weed control for our lawn.

They did arrive to complete the contract but:

1. We never knew when they were coming and because my husband travels for work sometimes the lawn would be toolong and they would not fertilize, would leave us a note to call when the lawn was cut.
2. They would return often to check if they could fertilize and would continue to leave us notes ie: they didn't wait for usto call them when we had cut the lawn!
3. At the end of our service contracts we had MORE crab grass than not.

So while part of the issue might have been US and our infrequent lawn maintenance, it was also partially
them b/cwe never knew when to expect them and therefore did not have the opportunity to cut the lawn
before their arrival!

So in my opinion, the price is too high for a service that doesn't get the chance to work. I am sure if we had known
when Lawn Doctor was coming (a phone call 2-3 days before would be perfect) and we'd had a chance to prepare
for them, then the weed control might have worked. In the end it was just a waste of money.

They come and perform duties as expected, quickly and quietly. They are always professional and leave a billing in my door. When my lawn gets slightly overgrown they will NOT spray but will call me to set up a time when I've mowed. I definitely believe Lawn Doctor cares about their service and their reputation. I will continue using them. As for the price approximation above, I would have to say that over two years we've spent much more than that. The spring/fall aeration and treatments are about $200-250 but then the monthly treatments are only about $50 each time.

THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE GOOD WORK FOR ME. THEY USUALLY SHOW UP ON TIME, AND THEY ALWAYS GET RIGHT TO WORK. THEY KNOW THEIR JOB. THEY DON'T TAKE MANY BREAKS.

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT, AND I CAN ALWAYS GET HELP WHEN I NEED IT. THEY CALL AND REMIND ME OF WHEN THEY ARE COMING, AND THEY SCHEDULE THEIR WORK AROUND THE WEATHER, SO THEIR FERTILIZER WORKS PROPERLY.

THEY COME OUT ONCE A WEEK TO MOW AND TAKE CARE OF THE LAWN. I NEVER HAVE TO CALL THEM AND ALL I DO IS SEND IN A CHECK ONCE A MONTH. THEY ARE QUICK AND DO AN OKAY JOB.

I HAVE FOUND THAT MY YARD LOOKS VERY NICE. I REALLY LIKE THIS SERVICE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TIME TO. THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIBLE WITH THE CHEMICALS SINCE THERE ARE KIDS AROUND. THEY DO A REALLY NICE JOB.

I FEEL THAT THEY DO AN ADEQUATE JOB OF MAINTAINING THE QUALITY OF MY LAWN. THEY ARE VERY GOOD AT ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS THAT I MAY HAVE IF I DO ENCOUNTER A DIFFERENT SORT OF A PROBLEM.
