GAGNE PAINTING CO

We contracted with Gagne Painting to paint our house in July.  We paid 1/3 up front and he wrote in his contract that he would be finished the job at the end of August.  We starting texting and emailing him when he didn?t show up.  He wouldn?t answer our calls and his mailbox was always full.  We kept getting the run around, promising to come next week, on friday, tomorrow, next monday..and never show up.
He finally did show up mid november, and put a little paint on 2 or 3 areas of our house to justify keeping our money.  Told us we were confrontational (we bugged him to see when he was coming to paint our house) and quit the job.  Left all his trash, light fixtures on the lawn, some windows taped up, it was a mess.  He had used a sprayer and got it on our brick walkway and chimney, and on our new roof and our new vinyl window.  He was a nightmare .   Save yourself the trouble and find a more professional painter.

He showed up immediately after an online request, but this was the first and last time he showed up on time. Terrible job on cabinets that are now peeling and chip really easily, we sent them back once and they were resprayed but it did not fix the problem. Unprofessional job on the rest of the kitchen cabinets, missed spots, areas that should have been sanded and filled were just painted over. The exterior of the house was rushed and prep was practically non existent. Left our screens in and 4 were cut by his inexperienced teenage crew with razor knives when they were being covered with plastic. Left light fixtures and downspouts on the house. Gagne painted over peeling paint and when asked to stop and re scrape and sand he walked off the job. We were left with two sides of our house that were terribly and unprofessionally painted. We left one side that I doubt will last the winter because we had paid him 1/3 of the cost and could not afford to get all of it fixed. We had a really good painter fix the mess on the front of our house, he was less expensive and did an excellent job. He literally had to remove 3/4 of the paint Gagne had sprayed on the house.

UPDATE 1-26-16

Interior kitchen cabinets now peeling and chipping, exterior painting had to be repainted by another company. Gary Gagne and his inexperienced crew showed up weeks later than planned and did a hurried, unprofessional job. Impossible to work with, walked off the job more than once. Painted over old peeling paint and the excuses he gave were ridiculous.

Gary came out to give a quote quickly after I called him. He then provided me the quote later that night and started the work shortly after. He knew we were in a hurry to get the work done and he managed to get the job done quicker than he originally thought. Works very fast and made the house look perfect. We have plaster walls with many imperfections and he was able to patch them and make them look smooth. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a painter.

Gary was super responsive, getting out to see the job and providing a bid within a day. Once the work started, Gary was prompt, worked quickly, was very pleasant to have in the house. The work site was kept clean and organized and furniture and other items treated very carefully. My husband and I both work from home and were a bit concerned about noise etc. but there was no problem at all. He very much respected the antique qualities of the house and was very careful to do the job in a way that reflected that.
This is only the second time I have hired a painter and it was a great experience. I look forward to working with Gary in the future for exterior painting and other projects.

I found Gary through Facebook, and would recommend that anyone who owns a home and who needs work done on the regular basis that home ownership can require becomes friends with Gagne Painting as he uses Facebook quite effectively to share specials and other internet offers.

Gary Gagne (Gagne Painting) did a wonderful job of making the house look like new again. He was courteous and professional in every way.

I called gagne painting and gary the owner came out to my home looked at the project walked around and wrote everything down in detail that i wanted done or was concerned about. offered to have a lead company come and perform a lead test to ensure there was no lead ( which he was right there was'nt) after this we went over all the details put them in a written contract and gave me a start date. Gary started on time and worked everyday cleaning up everyday never once was a mess left there, after the prep work was completed the painting began gary recomended benjamin moore primer and 2 coats of Ben moore Aura exterior. which looked amazing when completed
