We refurbished 5 1960’s teak dining room chairs (loose and broken joints), and a teak armchair (one of the arms was gnawed by our dog). Steve did a great job at a good price. Great to be able to keep my parents furniture in the family. They’re going to my daughter next.

We hired this man to reface our cabinetsâ ¦ Well he ruined our whole kitchen. The cabinet doors do not close, there are big gaps at every door, He painted with the hardware on and got paint everywhere. On the hardware, our back splash, our hardwood floors and our countertops. He left holes everywhere where he nailed on the pieces of wood. He left the old drawer fronts on with new doors. He was also very rude to my husband when he asked questions. The paint job is horrendous. We are besides ourselves and it looks so much worse than it did before he started. We will have to hire someone else to redo the entire thing! I wish I could post the pictures that I took of the finished product!

Steven at Custom Woodwork & Design is truly the best person I have ever hired. He was meticulous in his design work and attention to detail and fully exceeded our expectations. I am a real estate agent and would recommend him for any of my clients. Here is a description of my project: I had purchased factory made cabinets used and retrofitted them to my kitchen.I ended up purchasing two additional cabinets to get everything to fit right in the space, but it still left two awkward gaps. One was a tall 9 inch space next to our pantry cabinet, and the other was an 8 inch space at the end of a row of cabinets. We talked to about 5 contractors before we reached out to Custom Woodworking and Design. All of them said they could do it, but couldn't seem to figure out a design that worked and gave up. Within 24 hours of meeting with Steven, we had drawings to scale that incorporated what we wanted and so much more than we could have envisioned ourselves. He was able to incorporate adjustable bookshelves, a wine glass rack and a wine rack into the tall cabinet. His drawings alone were evidence of the type of care Steven puts into his work, with the bookshelves lined with books of all different colors in his sketches. And the final product is amazing. The two custom cabinets with all of the amazing elements cost me LESS than one factory built pantry cabinet. The exterior of the cabinets were painted white (sprayed) to match my other cabinets, a shaker style panel was built to match, the interior was all maple with an oak detail on the front of the adjustable shelves. And the turnaround time for all of this was a couple of weeks from design to install. Unbelievable. Words can't describe how thankful I am to have found Steven and how beautiful the final product is. Don't be so trusting when hiring from the internet. This company is Not what they profess to be. My cabinet is functional, but the work is shoddy. A custom designer does not know how to install magnets??!! Really??? The doors do not close properly. The left side looks warped. He n his helper scratched our silestone counter tops. Were totally disgusted. This company may have done good work in the past, but for us we will not be calling them back. The lack of concern really upset me. Live and learn.

Steve is a excellent custom woodworker. He made us the most beautiful fireplace mantel. I'll also mention he is easy to work with. I made two big changes to the project and he was always willing to make me happy. We would definitely recommend him to others.

He is very diligent, an excellent craftsman, loves his work and is eager to please.

The cabinets look very beautiful, and I get many compliments. However, there are some functional problems he had to come back to fix, but they are still not right, so I will have to have someone else come to tweek them. I also found him difficult to communicate with. He was defensive and took every question as a criticism.

We were very pleased with our kitchen cabinet reface and new counters. Steve Dywer is a very fine craftsman. We would highly recommend him.

VERY, VERY PLEASED WITH STEPHEN...HE DID AN AMAZING JOB...WELL BEYOND MY EXPECTATONS! My kitchen looks like a page in COASTAL LIVING! Stephen was very involved in this project and worked on it, being completely devoted to the design and end result! His drawings, which were presented, prior to starting, were an exact duplicate of the end result.. He kept me informed step by step, and was always on schedule. His total involvement was greatly admired and his creative suggestions resulted in a work of art. My FROM SCRATCH cabinets are beautiful! I would strongly suggest his work to anyone that wants PERFECTION!

After receiving three addiitonal quotes, I found Custom Woodwork & Design's to be the most reasonable. I was very happy with the work and the timeliness in which it was performed. My new cabinets and kitchen countertop look great. I would hire Mr. Dwyer again in the future for other projects.

The call back was promptly and started quickly despite having an hour drive. What I wanted I got. Will be calling again soon for my next custom woodworking project.

I hired CW&D to put in new countertops, crown molding and rebuild a cabinet. What was most impressive is that he went above-and-beyond to accommodate requests to maximize my husband's participation while he was temporarily out-of-state and my busy schedule. His prices were on target, he was always on time and most importantly, his work was beautifully done. The attention to detail was most appreciated. For example, he fixed a cabinet door so now it latches perfectly and I was not left with sawdust, wood or countertop pieces at project end. Instead, I was left with my brand-new kitchen; one that I have admired everyday since.

Project is ongoing at this time. So far, everything has been to our satisfaction and has been done in a timely manner.
