I hired Mr. Stevenin directly after hurricane Florence in December of 2018. The scope of my storm damage was to replace dry wall, paint two rooms ,install windows and to upgrade to vinyl siding. The ONLY work that was completed, was the installation of the two bedroom windows. After giving him far too much time, I retained an attorney in April of 2020. Fast forward three more years, I finally won my court case this week. He was a no show in court. I definitely do not recommend him for any home repairs! The company I brought on to complete my repairs had to take down all of the siding he had installed, due to sloppy work. Besides the fact that the front of my home was never completely sided by him. The drywall installed is horrible and the paint still has bubbles showing from the improper preparation work before painting. I could go on, but it is for not. Hire this man only if you have the money to have it done twice and retain legal representation at the end. A rating of 0.5 gives him too much credit.

My wife and I hired Mr. Al Stevenin Jr., in Oct of 2021 to remodel the space under our stairs, and our master bathroom tub and shower. We paid what he requested to start the project on the 27th of Oct 2021 in order to start on the 29th. We paid additional amounts as the projects and time progressed. Along with the money paid to Mr. Sevenin Jr., we provided nearly all the materials for the projects requested by him to do the project. It was requested the bathroom project be done by 13 Jan 2022 due to a scheduled medical procedure. Yet, the project was not completed by the deadline and was still not done 6 months later. Mr. Stevenin Jr. stated many times he is licensed and insured, but we found out he was not a licensed contractor in NC. Mr. Stevenin Jr. would often not communicate for long periods and when he would show up, it would only be for a few hours. He would leave saying he would be back but would disappear and not return. He eventually stopped communicating completely. After not receiving any communication about finishing the project, we requested to have another contractor evaluate the work completed and request a quote to complete the work. We were informed by the second contractor that the materials we were instructed to purchase or used by Mr. Stevenin Jr. were not meant for use in a shower or bathroom setting and would soon cause water damage or mold. After we obtained the second opinion, we were told any contractor would need to rip out everything currently installed and it would have to be redone. It was also brought to our attention that there were no permits pulled for the electrical or plumbing work completed.

Never returned to finish the floor. Now I have to hire an additional contractor to finish the floor.

After I called I received a return call within a day. We discussed the job,he came to look at it I received an estimate in a timely manner. He worked with my schedule. He is an honest businessman and a man of his word. He discovered spome unforeseen issues with the job and went above and beyond to correct the problem. He told me because it was unforeseen, he would honor his original estimate. He asks for no money up front but gets paid when the job is completed. I would have no hesitation in calling him again or recommending him to others. I am very pleased with the entire experience and the quality of work done.

This fine and honest gentleman went to repair a problem identified by a pre-sale building inspector. The assessment by the inspector turned out to be remnants of an old problem that no longer existed. Mr. Sevenin could have easily done the repair and no one would have known it was unnecessary. Instead he totally HONEST and pointed out that NO REPAIR WAS NEEDED and put it in writing. Even though he did not charge us, we will be paying him for his time and trouble. Safe, safe, safe choice of contractor.

Al came right out gave me an excellent price. He fixed the problem and called later that week to make sure there were no problems, I've since hired him to do other work which I'm sure he will also do an excellent job.

Al Stevenin came to my rescue when my original contractor bowed out at the last minute. Removed old bay and replaced with new on hand window.

He was reliable and did a great job. Would hire him again.

Mr. Stevenin contacted me right away to discuss window project. He was very professional and explained what needed to be done in great detail to me. We agreed on a fair price for the installation and he arrived on time and completed the installation as agreed upon. During the installation, Mr. Stevenin pointed out a small water stain to me on the ceiling and offered to look around to identify the source of the leak. He determined there was a small number of damaged roof shingles causing the water leak. Mr. Stevenin gave me a very fair price to repair the shingles. Mr. Stevenin got new shingles for me and fixed my roof at the same time as completing the window installation. Thank goodness Mr. Stevenin noticed the stain, as he saved me a tremendous amount of money and grief if the damage had not been identified and fixed when it was. I will definitely hire him for any future home projects I may have.

Al built the deck including the flooring and installed the railing post. After that he left and has never called me or responded to my calls. That was almost 3 months ago. During the construction he did take long periods of 2 months or more between segments of time off. No show or little contact sometimes. He seemed to have lots of excuses and personal problems to blame. I have a deck with no rails installed. Work done is OK . He will not respond to any phone calls. All monies were paid on time to this point. Do not recommend Al if you want your job completed.

they never called back after installing my floor but did good work

This contractor just abandoned me and left unfinished work. I could not get in touch with him, he will not answer the phone or messages left on his phone.
