Problem 1: John, the owner, rewired an outdoor lamppost and installed new in-ground wire from the lamp to the house and connected the wire to the house. I found out after the work was done, that he is not a licensed electrician and should not have done this kind of work. Also, a permit was needed to do this job which he did not obtain.

Problem 2: They did not complete the job on two paver walkways that they installed because they did not fill the paver joints with polymeric joint sand. As a result, some of the pavers have moved out of place and weeds are growing in the paver joints. Also, they have not replaced some pavers that were damaged during installation.

Problem 3: When they built the paver walkways, they changed the grade of the lawn and now the lawn slopes towards the house and it is causing water to seep into the basement.

Problem 4: They relocated a shed in my yard and in the process they chipped the door and bent the newly installed siding on two sides of the shed. They did not raise the shed high enough for the door to open completely. Mold has now grown on the door because it touches the ground.

Problem 5: They relocated a lawn wishing well and broke off pieces of the siding. They did not brace the well when they moved it and as a result, the entire structure is now very unstable.

Problem 6: They transplanted a fully grown, healthy Azazel plant I had in my yard and tore two large branches from it. As a result, the plant went into shock and died.

Problem 7: They installed an in-ground drainage system for my gutters to drain into, but they failed to clear a path at the end of the system for the water to drain out. As a result, the water drains very slowly and my gutters overflow.

Problem 8: They planted pine trees at the edge of my property for privacy. They were not the pine trees I requested. They were the wrong size and shape. They were not healthy looking, and several are now dying.

Problem 9: They did not cover and bury two in-ground drain pipe openings that aren't being used.

John, the owner, was very gruff and intimidating when I'd ask him a question and twice he threatened to quit when the work was only half completed. Since the job was already underway, and I didn't have anyone to replace him, I was left with no other choice than to try to deal with his attitude. He is very rude and condescending. I would never hire him again nor would I ever recommend him to anyone.

Couldn't be better.  John kept appointment to come out, see site, and provide estimate.  He gave a reasonable cost/estimate for the job s agreed and offered a few extras if desired, also for minimal additional cost.

The job was completed in a single day as promised.  John arrived with his equipment and two helpers at the agreed time.  Work was completed as per agreement, excellent workmanship, and clean up when done.  Tree stumps and additional debris were hauled off for a very small additional charge.

John is experienced, knowledgeable, and honest.  He does what he says and does it well.  In the spring we intend to ask him to do some landscaping in our front yard.

If you need exterior drainage, be sure to call John at Scituate Nursery.  You will be glad you did.  We certainly were.
