(I brought my VERY small chihuahua, George, to the office as he was having trouble walking. This is not a new issue for him. He is a rescue that we have had for 5+ years now and he came to us as an adult. From the first day we had him he has needed a gentle touch. We found out (from a vet office no longer in business) that he has a disc issue in his back and both of his back legs have pretty profound patellar luxation  (bad knees that won't stay in place). Before coming here, the previous vet  had just been treating his mobility issues with anti inflammatory. I noticed his abilities to go for short walks and climb a few stairs began to diminish. I brought him to our new vet, North Kingstown Animal Hospital, because for a few days he would just stand waiting to be picked up to be taken outside or the couch or up a few stairs. Instead of sniffing around he would just do his business and wait to be taken in. I expected to get a refill of the metacam and be sent on my way home. Instead the vet gave him a good looking over, noting and listening to my concerns, and watching him stand and attempt to walk. He was put on a diet and given joint supplements, which had NEVER been suggested to me before, AND they suggested  laser treatments on his knees, I was VERY SKEPTICAL but my little George was in a lot of discomfort. I agreed to give it a try, figuring after 4 treatments if I didn't see an improvement I needn't continue. At least I had tried everything I possibly could. They sell a package of 4 treatments for $100.00 or $30.00 per visit if not purchasing the laser package. I bought  the package and they set up my schedule (which was flexible). I noticed a difference by the the second treatment, and by the end of the third treatment he was a much happier chihuahua. I purchased further visits. At this time he has received 7 treatments and he is a different dog altogether. He is very active now. He runs up and down the halls in the house; he does the puppy bow to play and then runs away hoping we will chase him;  he scampers up the deck stairs and the front stairs before I have a chance to grab him to carry him; he runs along side his big (44 lb ) sister, and now I have to watch him in the yard because he runs around to the neighbor's house to check things out. It is comical to watch because he looks like a bunny hopping and scampering over the tall grass without a care in the world.Yes, he has been taking the joint supplements, but this big improvement is happening BEFORE they really have been in his system long enough to affect a change. I can't say enough about the dedication of the staff, but the laser treatment they provide would be GREAT for senior pets with joint issues or for pets with a strain or sprain or some other kind of injury to deep soft tissue. I don't this I can actually remember owning him with this much ABILITY. I am going to keep him going for once a week maintenance treatments for as long as possible and I highly recommend these laser treatments to any pet parent who has a furbaby suffering with joint issues.

d not go anywhere else.The visit went well. At all times the vet and the tech had the dog's comfort and safety as their priority. David Mandarini is an exceptional vet and has cared for our dogs for the last 14 years We would not go anywhere else.

Every visit is wroth the brief wait because they spend all the time with you that you need, answer questions, give great advice and provide exceptional medical care. We are so thankful for Dr. Margaret Levy and her husband, also a vet at this animal hospital.

Their prices are great and they have really good hours. I have two dogs that had cancer and their staff was really caring and compassionate. They were good throughout the whole thing.

North Kingstown Animal Hospital we use on a regular basis. We have been using them for the last, well the dog is nine years old, so we have been there for nine years. I'm sure the dog was there a month ago actually. We have been using them for nine years and we have been happy with the service. Haven't had any problems or issues with them. Everything is going smooth. It's everything you can expect from a veterinarian. I would say it's reasonable, what anybody would have charged in the area.

My story unfortunately did not have a happy ending, but I know that Dr. Levy and all the staff at NKAH made this sad journey just a little less horrible. I highly recommend NKAH. I have been getting excellent care from NKAH for several years. The addition of Dr. Levy is a great asset to an already excellent veterinary practice.

They are excellent. We have been going there for about 10 years now. They take you right in.

When I discovered the overcharge, I contacted the hospital and asked for a refund. Balmforth's daughter, Laurie who is the office manager, stated they didn't owe me a refund because the service was performed. She also tried to "blame" me and questioned why I didn't contact them earlier than 3 months after the test was done. The reason for that is Balmforth nor anyone else at NKAH told me that I paid more than I should have and I didn't find out until I asked for a copy of my dog's file. I later received a letter from Balmforth stating that he would speak with Laurie about a refund. That letter was sent on October 12, 2012 - I never received a refund and plan to file a complaint with the state.

Vets and staff have conistently provided quality caring and compassionarte care for my dogs both routine and especially sick care.

My ratings were not given lightly. I recommend NKAH highly

They have always been pretty good. They seem to be very pleasant. You get seen on time. We haven’t used them that often because we have a puppy and we haven’t been going to the hospital for years. They are new to us and we have been going there for the last three months. They put you at ease. There is one person who I don’t like, I don’t like his manner. It’s a personal thing. It’s subjective and not being very objective. They seem to know what they are doing and take care of all the animals. I would recommend them. I don’t know about their price since I haven’t compared them to other veterinarians. I am not sure if I would use their services again, but I do consider them.

We were greeted by a friendly and professional receptionist. We only had to wait a couple of minutes past our appoinment time. When we met with the vet and his assistant, they were friendly and professional, answered all our questions and were so gentle with our puppy that she fell asleep on the table. We shall be using North Kingstown Animal Hospital for all future visits to the vet.

They could see my cat right away without appointment. Due to my cat`s age anesthesia was risky, but Dr. Balmforth explained everything that had to be done. The surgery went extremely well, including follow-up.

Dr. Balmforth took great care in trying to address our dogs medical condition. He was caring, knowledgeable and personable. The staff at North Kingstown Animal Hospital followed up with several telephone calls regarding updates on our dogs progress and we were left with the impression that they truly cared and understood how our dog was a part of our family. When the diagnosis came back that it was cancer, Dr. Balmforth referred us to a specialist but kept himself informed of the progress in our dogs treatment. We believe that Dr. Balmforth and the staff at North Kingstown Animal Hospital take great pride in their work and our experience was nothing but positive.
