It is always a challenge with routine lawn maintenance accounts that are a little further away from Aquidneck Island. Fueling trucks and driving time is always a factor in pricing so unfortunately we can be more expensive than a company that is located closer to you. "I am very sorry the scheduling of this particular project through the Big Deal Promotion did not go as planned from the start. Due to how Angie's List ran their Big Deal Promotion we have decided not to use it in the future. It was a one time trial to see how it would work bringing in new business and came extremely recommended by them. Since the promotions were purchased before myself or my company was contacted or consulted about the job itself it proved extremely difficult to handle the inflow of expected deadlines and job parameters etc. that multiple clients had before agreeing to do it. The Big Deal representative led us to believe there would be communication between the client and our company before they were able to purchase the deal. This is our fault entirely and we have remedied the problem completely by not allowing the use of such promotional deals to be purchased without meeting with the actual client prior to discuss expectations and deadlines of the job to be certain we can meet them before agreeing to do it. We were put in an unfortunate bind last year by Angie's List running that add the way it was. In any case I apologize again for any inconvenience this may have caused and as always if you would like any additional landscaping in the future we will make sure it is taken care of directly through us and meets your standards."
I do think it is misleading to advertise as "clean up" if removing the waste is not included. I ended up just telling him to stack the waste in a pile and we would take care of getting it hauled. Then, it took a very long time to get him to schedule the job. Perhaps without the extra fees, it was no longer an economically attractive prospect. Who knows? We were waiting on him to finish this job so someone else could do grass seeding on the property and it was an inconvenience to us to have to put off the other job until he finally got around to this one. We ended up having to threaten to ask Angie's list for a refund in order to get him to do the job. (Incidentally, if he had done a good job on the clean up, the seeding job would have gone to him as well.)
I will say that once he did the job (without the carting away), it was thoroughly done.

This in turn could have easily been discussed if like I explained before we were able to speak with clients before the actual purchasing of the deal which is how it was supposed to be ran. He cleaned the dog yard thoroughly; neatly trimmed the shrubbery there and all around the house; and carefully collected and hauled away the cut branches.
All told, I was extremely pleased with the outcome: Christian is honest, likeable, does a good job, and charges a fair price.
I recommend him highly for quality yard care.
