KVH INDUSTRIES INC

I found a dealer on line for KVH satellite systems .. explainded I was going to install it on my boat .. its the R1dx model .. I ask the dealer if this new model was working good and if there was any problems .. they are a marine supply store .. the sales man explainded to me they were great .. in fact they had them installed in about 8 or 9 boats and working great .. so I bought one .. after installation was done in a few days I staterd having problems .. I call KVH tech support .. they at first were helpfull .. they took me thru a list of test .. then when we were done he thoght the antenna was bad .. how ever before the could send me one I need to get a local dealer inspect for sure .. called a local dealer he on the phone also thought the antenna was bad .. however he was going to charge me 250.00 to come look .. he ask me to chech with KVH Tracvision to make sure they would pay me back .. so I called KVH again this time talked to a man named Mark .. he said he was the head of the tech department .. I ask if they would pay me back .. and he began explaning "it wouldnt matter .. he was not going to warranty anything on my systen that was only 1 month old because it was on a boat and not an RV" .. I explained what the dealer had said ( "fine ! works great on all our boats" ) I explainded I had talked to a nice man there at KVH a few days before and he knew it was on a boat and thought that was fine .. then Mark closed the conversation by saying " it doesnt matter what the dealer or any one else has said ! Im the head of this depart ment and we will warranty nothing on this sytem ! " I ask if it being on the boat was the reason why it wouldnt work and he said no .. it should work fine .. but it was to be on an RV not a boat so no warranty ! I ask if I could send it back in and pay any differance if need .. no replay .. I would like to note .. no where in the installers guide does it say only for a RV or in the warranty info ..
