Prices too high. Has too much business and takes too long to come out, but once he does he gets at it. He does good work!

It went very well. They came when they said, The instillation was done in a timely manner. Very professonial. I will definately hire them again.

two different technicians on different days gave two different reasons for what was wrong, same company, both seemed reasonable, but then offered to replace whole system instead (visit covered by third party insurance). Chose not to hire them for replacement.

They were the cheapest and they did a good job as scheduled.

We would use them in the future.

UPDATE 5/26/14: I'm leaving my old review from April 23rd, but want to update with my recent dealings. In the last month I've reached out maybe several different times over the last month about problems I'm having with my upstairs heating zone, and more recently, my hot water heater pilot light occasionally going out. I was looking to Martel for service. Got VM all times I've called, tried sending texts as the VM greeting says it's my best chance at more immediate service. I spoke with Jim back on 5/2 about the pilot assembly to be replaced, texted the water heater model as asked, and never got a response with a quote. I followed up again last week via text when the pilot light went out twice in one night, didn't get a response to this point. Needless to say, pretty disappointed considering my original dealings with this business. I guess I'll need to look elsewhere.

I've found Jim to be pleasant to deal with, responsive and fairly priced. My first ever dealing with Martel Plumbing was actually service help over the phone regarding heat for my upstairs zone. I had multiple plumbers shy away from even coming to my house because I mentioned I had a Viessman boiler. I explained the problem to Jim over the phone, he presented what he thought the problem could be and suggested a fix if I was comfortable doing it myself. In the end, he was right and I replaced the zone controller to get my heat back up. I've called Martel twice since that experience, both times to get my hot water heater serviced. Response was never an issue, work done on schedule, and I certainly will look Martel's way when I have a major plumbing/heating project to deal with.

Martel Plumbing & Heating is a family-owned business with a strong work ethic. Jim Martel responded promptly, arrived on time to discuss the job, and provided a quote in a timely fashion.  The fee was reasonable and covered all aspects of the job from beginning to end.  Work began and finished on time.   The team was punctual, professional, courteous and polite.  Very pleased with the quality of their work!  I highly recommend Martel Plumbing & Heating, and would not hesitate to book them for future plumbing needs.

I used to work as an oil service tech. I've seen a lot of sloppy installs and I have to say that Jim and his team did an awesome job. Nice straight lines. Quality solder work. They cleaned up the whole area before they left. Another thing that I was very impressed with was Jim's responsivness. Whenever I called or sent him a text, he did what so many contractors don't. He actually responded to me, every time. Without hesitation, I highly recommenbd Martel Plumbing for all of your plumbing andA heating needs. Thanks Jim!

Removed old system one day and installed complete new system the next. Very competent and experienced crew. Neat, clean and professional installation. Highly recommended and will use their service for other home improvements in the future.

I bought a $15,000 hot water heater from a Mr. Martel.  I went down stairs after 2 years and there was a flood.  Someone came into service it.  He gave me a new unit and charged me $1200 to install.  It broke down again leaving me with no hot water and he came out to service this one a month later. He said it was soot.  He gave me instructions on how to clean it and charged $95 for the service call.

It went well.  He called and went to Simmon's Supply to get an O-ring for the filter but that wasn't the problem.  The filter would have cost too much to replace so he suggested I just remove it which is what he did.  I had some copper pipe and he used my pipe to fill in the piece that was needed.  He also had to reattach a drain pipe that had become detached from the drain on my sink in the cellar.  All this took him approximately an hour.   He came when he said he would and I was pleased with the work he did.

I was very satisfied. They did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend them. They are very good people.

Jim and his guys were punctual and professional.  They were very responsive when called and worked efficiently to get the job done.  I would highly recommend them and would call them again.

Martel was the only plumber I called who was able to get me in on a short timetable and accommodate my work schedule - which was great.  On the scheduled day, when he didn't show up, I had to call.  It sounded like my appointment hadn't been written down.  To his credit, Martel was able to get someone to my house in pretty short order.
The work was good - I had a very old thermostat (mercury thermometer!) with wires that didn't match up to modern wiring diagrams.  The work was done quickly, and I haven't had any problems with the new thermostat.  The main problem was with the billing.  On the initial phone call, I was quoted a price for the install including the thermostat.  Since I had my own thermostat, I expected to be charged less (as I was told on the phone would be the case), but I was not.  Overall, not a terrible experience, but I'm not sure I would work with this company again. 

The person that came was very efficient, they came out to fix my radiator. The first radiator people that came out referred me to a carpenter, the carpenter referred me to the radiator people. Martel came out and was able to fix everything.

He made all the repairs efficiently & correctly.  No further problems after he finished.

My main plumber was tied up with a big job and could not come the same day. Another plumber I used in the past didn't answer the phone and called me back around 5 pm. I called several plumbers and this was the best value. They gave me a firm price and were able to do the job the same day. Other plumbers I called gave vague estimates.
