Josh did an excellent job. Always on time. Worked quickly. Communicated very well and answered all my questions. The quality of his work was outstanding. Working Josh was an absolute pleasure, we hired him to take down the old deck and build us a new one. The team did a great job. Consummate professional… Could not be happier! We’d gotten at least four quotes from other contractors, and all others paled in comparison to Josh, in terms of quality and cost. Josh is a serious contractor and really knows his stuff. While assessing our project, he pointed out several structural reinforcement needs that no others had brought up – and which ultimately made for a beautifully solid deck. Josh and his co-contractor, Bob, were well-equipped for the job, even using laser levels to maintain a perfectly level deck (which unfortunately sits on a sloping section of the lawn.) Josh and Bob worked their butts off for 7 ½ days (honestly, I cannot fathom how they had the energy to do the bull-work they did day after day), tidying up the area at the end of each day. Josh was quick to respond to our calls/texts with any questions/concerns we had. While we did experience a couple of hiccups (permit issues, etc.) those are to be expected with projects like this – and did not deter from the schedule or excellence of the finished project. I wish this review site had an option to submit photos – as I would have loved to include the before/during and after process. Highly recommend.

Josh promptly responded to my initial inquiry and quickly came out for a (free) estimate. Out of four carpenters to come for an estimate, he was the only one who actually returned a completed estimate. Luckily, it was very reasonable. He was able to start the project promptly. When an unexpected complication occur (water damage) he was able to fix the problem promptly. He and his crew came to work on time and worked steadily throughout the day. I was amazed at his thoroughness and attention to detail; our deck looks amazing. He was one day over his estimated time frame, but that was just because of the unforeseen water damage. We will definitely be using Josh again in the future.

Start to finish Josh was at my house early and he was professional, organized, and the stairs came out better than I could have hoped for. My house was built in 1895 which created alot of issues and he overcame each one. I will be using him again for sure and high recommended him.

I can not recommend Joshua Olean Carpentry more highly. Josh just completed a major renovation of our home. He extended our cape, and removed and rebuilt the second floor. The project included new walls, bathroom, kitchen, siding, roofing, converting the heating system, and everything that goes along with a project that large. From beginning to end Josh was professional, trustworthy and competent. He had great suggestions and did every aspect of the job so that we would love it. He treated our home with the same care he would treat his own. He completed the job ahead of schedule and left our home clean and in move in condition. We were out of state during most of the construction, but Josh sent pictures and stayed in touch. Our neighbors told us constantly what a great guy he was and what a beautiful job he was doing. Joshua Olean Carpentry recently performed a wall build and framing project for me. Josh built a new wall to act as a room divider and framed in a stone foundation wall (2 walls built in total). Josh also managed the painting and trim-work for both walls, and provided oversight on the installation of 6 recessed lights. From start to finish, Josh did a wonderful job and was a complete professional. The services were delivered as quoted and the price was very reasonable for the quality of work. I would absolutely recommend Josh's services to anyone looking for quality contractor work and will use his services again in the future.
