Tech came out diagnosed the problem -fridge needed a new mother board as the lights were not turning off when the doors closed and which also may be the cause for the ice maker to not work, a problem we had been living with and using ice cube trays.
Tech was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and provided an estimate for replacing the mother board and replacing the plastic pieces that were warped and semi melted around the light bulbs. Tech indicated that the parts had to be ordered, took the bulbs out of the fridge to prevent the overheating and indicated that he would be back in a few days, after the parts came in.
We had to deal with a fridge with no light inside and that was much better than the alterantive of having all our food in coolers.
Appliance mater called a few days later to confirm the scheduled repair and the tech (Jason I think was his name) arrived on time and replaced the pieces that needed to be replaced. Overall a very positive experience and they will be the first phone call next time I need appliance services. Will also recommend to friends and neighbors.
