I have used Smart Choice several times in the past and was always very happy wit the work. This time I cannot say the same. The first visit Ed took a look, showed me where it was leaking air, and suggested, to save me money, he put vaseline on the seal to plump it up and cure the leak. I called back a few weeks later and asked for a new gasket to be ordered since the vaseline trip did not work. He installed the new gasket, and again load it up with vaseline. This was a few days before Independence Day and I was planning a cookout. Sorry to say it was very difficult to pull open the door and near impossible to access the ice tray. I called and left a voice mail. It is now September and the frost free freezer is anything but. I have left voice mails and comments on his Contact Me on the website and am being ignored. I am sorry to have to post a negative review after being so impressed with his work before this repair.

We've used Smart Choice before, and Ed is still a pleasure to work with. We had other plumbing problems the same day, and Ed was the first to arrive. We loaned him some towels and he worked on the dishwasher without complaint while water dripped on him from the ceiling above! Although he didn't have the parts to repair the dishwasher immediately, he was able to order them for less than his original estimate. We paid for parts and labor up front, and he called us to schedule installation a few days later when the parts came in. Ed is very good about being on time and calling about 15 minutes before arrival. He is cheerful and careful to clean up after his work is done.

Technician was courteous and prompt.
It has been about 2 weeks since he repaired it and the washing machine is working fine now.
We would definitely use them again!

Ed scheduled a time and came out promptly.  He ordered the part and came back before Thanksgiving (thank you!), to fix it.  Very personable and honest.

fantastic!! would highly recommend smart choice to everyone!!! I have put the magnet on my fridge and although I hope nothing else breaks when it happens I will definitely be calling Smart choice!!

Be very cautious before using Smart Choice it may not be a smart choice after all!



On 3/12/15 I had cooling motor assembly replaced in my Dacor wall oven and was happy with my service up to that point. However in July I had the same noise with my fan motor occur that I did in March of 2015. I was unhappy that it happened so soon but due to my original experience I anticipated a good experience for the possible warrant work.



That first good experience has now been soured due to the fact that I had to call 8 times before I had received a call back regarding a warranty issue. On 7/23/2015 I received a call back but only I had to use a different phone number and did not mention on my voicemail that the repair was in reference to a warranty issue.



After I spoke to the owner about the issue he stated that is was an awkward oven to remove and work on and it was not likely under warranty but that he would call me back after he researched his records. It is now 8/3/2015 and I have not received a call back but I have researched MY records. The repair took place on 3/12/15 and the receipt states:



In the event a part should fail to perform SMART CHOICE guarantees it as follows: Single Family Dwellings (single family use) 1 year on parts, 90 days on related labor, unless otherwise specified in writing. The following exemptions have 90 DAYS parts, 90

days labor: Ice Makers, ERC?s all electronic boards.



This was not an icemaker and an ERC (Electronic Range Control) is an electronic clock and oven control unit and was not part of the repair, it only involved replacing a fan unit.



He stated he had surgery and that it would be difficult to do the work. I am not an unreasonable person and an injury is unfortunate and can be worked around, but to avoid doing a warrant repair because it is an inconvenience is not acceptable. I was willing to work out alternate arrangements if he was willing to communicate and honor his warranty.



I have used Angie?s List and have and have several successful and positive experiences however this is poor business and very

dishonest to provide a warranty with no plans to live up to the warranty he provides.

I called him and left a voicemail and he returned my call in about 15 minutes. We setup an appointment for the next day and he called 30 minutes in advance and arrived promptly. He diagnosed the broken belt problem in minutes. He said the price difference for changing the belt and doing a full maintenance change of parts was $50. I decided to go with the full maintenance after looking at the insides of my dryer. He was professional and courteous throughout.

All repairs were done quickly and correctly, brought us more years of use from our aging appliances.

Within 24 hours of contacting Ed at Smart Choice, he returned my call, and we set a day and time window to come to my house.  He contacted me on that day to let me know when he was approximately 30 minutes away.  Ed diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator within minutes, and had the new part that was needed on his truck.  He got right to work and completed the job in less than an hour.  This is not the first time I have used Smart Choice, and they will always be my go-to appliance repair service.  Ed is extremely knowledgeable, always responsive, does an excellent job and is fairly priced.  I highly recommend Smart Choice.

I was very pleased with them. He was very reasonably priced. He was honest with me. He returned calls within reason and was right on time for his appointment.

Came the same day and when he said he world. About a 45 minute job. Was very knowledgeable and explained all about what he was doing and how we could maximize efficiency with the dryer as well as safety issues. Was well worth the call and Angie's list has come through again with a quality service provider.

His answers to my questions evidenced a thorough knowledge about various appliances. He was prompt, polite and pleasant. Should I need to have another appliance repaired, Ed is already on my speed dial!
