We really love Dr. Gaines, even though she tends to run late. We had to wait almost 45 minutes to been seen for a 9am appointment. That starts getting pretty hard with an 18-month-old, but the office has toys and books he was interested in. The entire practice is great and very easy to communicate with and get through to if you have a a problem. I wish more practices used this near open-access model.

The doctors and staff are great - smart, friendly, caring, well organized. We have always been able to easily speak to a doctor or nurse with questions, get seen the same day, and have heard back promptly from the doctors when our child was sick and had abnormal lab results.

They have moved their office to 900 Warren avenue, and there is plenty of parking, and easy access to the office. There is a lab and radiology on site if needed (and the staff there are excellent - they made my son feel very comfortable in diagnosing his pneumonia). The front desk folk are pleasant and efficient. The waiting room is spacious, and allow for play space for the kids. There are bathrom both with child size and adult sized toilets.
Once checked in, each child is weighed, and heart rate, and breathing rate and so on are checked depending on the nature of the visit.
WELL CARE: All my kids have seen their primary doctor with each visit. The shots are given mostly by the pediatricians (Drs. Lange and McGookin). Developmental and guidance about what to expect for the next time period are addressed. They make it clear there are no foolish questions. I especially like that I can schedule all my kids for their flu vaccines on line, and there is online communications. There is enough variety in schduling times, that I can get in with my work schedule if I schedule 2-3 weeks in advance.
SICK CARE: I have brought my kids in from everything from jaundice, to asthma attacks, to ear infections, to something stuck under the eyelid, to pneumonias. No matter who the physician or nurse practioner is, I feel they pay attention to both my child and I, and give me a clear description of what is wrong, and what to do next. Each of the practitioners coordinates well with the hospitals or emergency rooms when that has been required.
Check out is brief and easy, as well as scheduling follow up.
I think the only issues I have had are:
1) having up to date immunizations or physicals faxed to the kids day care or school. That is better done requested in person, and I take whatever directly to the school.
2)Some difficulty getting through the on call number from 7-9 in the morning, which is also balanced by getting a medical provider directly on the line, with a plan made right then...no waiting for someone to call back.

They like the doctors there and my wife likes the organisation, they don't let anything to get in the way. There is always someone there, in the weekend, and at night. Once you call them they always call you back. It is a new and very nice building and the staff is very friendly. We will continue to use them in the future.

Excellent care. Doctor was thoughtful, compassionate, and from a practical aspect punctual and knowledgeable. I'd say the only knock against this office is that they're so popular that it's very difficult to become a new patient there. Once you are though, they make every effort to get you into the office in a timely fashion.

He didn't mind the shot that he was given, as the doctor was really good. The office is great for the kids as there's a playroom. There are many doctors there and the waiting room is always full.

We have been taking our child to Waterman for his regular check ups, and he's had a few emergencies, too. When he's had specific problems beyond the skill of a generalist, the doctors have always referred us to the correct specialist. I would recommend this practice.

They take very good care of my children. They are quick to respond to us if we have any problems. They send reminders before appointments. My kids have a great time because the staff is warm and easy to talk.

They are really great, they have same day appointments for sick kids and the doctors are very thorough and great. The staff is very nice and the office is brand new and very kid friendly.
