While the comments I read on Angie's list and Service Magic praised Derek's remodeling skills, I was in need of a home inspector but I noted he did that, too.

Beginning with our first conversation, I knew he would be the right one for the job. We spoke a good while on the phone and he explained what he would do and what I could expect with regard to the home inspection.

He did not have that hard sell approach, which also helped to sway me in his direction.

He was a few minutes late, but had the wrong address - the good news, it was only about 5 blocks from where he needed to be, so, that worked out just fine.

He was very patient as there were snags in the process (people staying in the house, locked doors, etc.,). His ability to work around these issues and maintain a high level of professionalism and again, patience, was remarkable.

He completed the inspection work within a few hours then contacted me when the report was ready. I had access to the Inspection Report (all 50 pages) within 24 hours.

Derek and his team showed up at 9:00 am on the first day. By the end of that day both the kitchen and bathroom were demolished. At the end of each day they cleaned up after themselves to ensure that the environment was safe and habitable. Over the next four weeks, I worked closely with Derek and his right hand man, Dave, to devise our perfect bathroom and kitchen. They gave me great suggestions and really helped me to envision exactly what I wanted. They also told me when what I had picked out was not going to look good. I valued their opinions because they have the experience. They were right in each instance. Small things did arise; needing to cut into our roof to vent the bathroom, having to sheet rock some of our kitchen because the walls were not good under the old paneling and fixing the flashing on our chimney. Derek was very reasonable when it came to the additional costs. He worked with me and our tight budget while ensuring a quality finished product. They made custom countertops for me that are gorgeous. When a miscalculation came up over the cabinets, Derek didn?t try to hide it. He was honest and deducted the cost from my final bill. Ok, here is the clincher. If this doesn?t convince you that you need to hire Northeastern Remodeling, nothing will. I am 8 months pregnant with a high risk pregnancy. Derek and Dave have been sooooooo incredibly patient with me. They are genuinely kind hearted people who anyone can feel comfortable inviting into their home. I felt confident leaving them in my home unattended to go to countless appointments. They would even carry in items from my car for me. They are a class act and I would hire them again in an instant. As a matter of fact, I can already think of future projects.
