NEW ENGLAND GAS CO

They replaced our gas meter as specified. When asked to make sure all the gas pilots in were lit, they told us that they would not relight our boiler. The boiler has a standard gas pilot that is easily accessible. When asked why, the technician said it needed to be cleaned. Not lighting the pilot was not an issue; it was when I discovered that they did not shut off the gas to the boiler. My wife was left there to fend for herself without an explanation on what to do. I have been in the heating industry for 18 years. Suppose there was a problem, it wouldn t matter the gas wasn't shut off. It wouldn t matter, because the tech didn't seemed concerned. It wouldn t matter that the gas valve could have been faulty and the system could have leaked gas while my family was home and the scenarios go on and on. I feel that my family was left in a situation that was unsafe and the tech should at least shut off the gas to the boiler until the problem was looked at.

THEY'VE BEEN DOING THIS SERVICE FOR ME FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEM. THEY DO A VERY COMPLETE JOB. I DO NOT HAVE EVEN ONE COMPLAINT ABOUT THEM.

I THINK THAT THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE, BUT THEY DO QUALITY WORK. THEY SHOW UP WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. OTHER THAN THEIR HIGH PRICES, I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM SO FAR.

THEY DIDN'T TRY TO DO MORE WORK THAN WHAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY HIRED TO DO. THEY MADE SURE THEY DIDN'T LEAVE ANY DUST OR DIRT AROUND THE FURNACE, AND THEY MADE SURE THE OLD FILTER WAS DISPOSED OF.

I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE IN THE EVENING. SHE WAS NOT HELPFUL AND SHE WAS RUDE. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE SUBCONTRACTED PLUMBER WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL.

I THOUGHT THAT THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB. WHEN I HAVE A PROBLEM, ALL I HAVE TO DO IS CALL THEM AND THEY COME ABOUT RIGHT AWAY. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEM. THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE TOO.
