Chris designed a great layout for the basement, since I had no idea what exactly I wanted. He laid out the entire time line, so there were no surprises. Chris first installed the french drain, which required cutting the concrete about 12" from the wall around the entire basement floor, removing the concrete, digging a trench, install the perforated pipe that would feed in to the sump pump. Then fill the trench with crushed stone and and fresh concrete. After waiting 3 days for the concrete to dry, he proceeded to install the finished basement. He started by framing the walls and ceiling. He then laid out a lighting, theater and electrical design that include recessed lighting and plugs and switches in all the right places. After the rigid foam insulation and the rough electrical were installed. It was time for sheet rock. After the he plastered and painted, it was time to install the finished electric and carpet.
I have to tell you that after the basement was completed, I was extremely nervous about the hurricane because I would get water in the basement floor almost every time it rained. After hurricane Sandy rolled through, there is no water and we are thoroughly enjoying our new basement! I would highly recommend Chris and his talented crew. I give Chris credit, but he also has a great team, as well.
