AJA Plastering

Description of Work: AJA Plastering (Artur Amaral, Rhode Island) assured us they were experienced in concrete, were licensed, and were insured. All of these claims turned out to be false. AJA Plastering quoted us $4,200 for our residential job. We paid 50% ($2,100) up front, which was a mistake. Artur Amaral did not initiate the job on time as agreed - He started the actual work over one week later. He did not use the appropriate equipment. He did not show up each day, and his work dragged on. When the concrete pouring service showed up, they advised us Artur did not complete the preparations properly. We were forced to pay the pouring service to prep the work the right way. Artur was supposed to complete the work after the pour - He did not. Upon the advice of the concrete pouring service, we contacted Artur for a partial refund. He promised us on four separate dates that he would show up with this partial refund, but never did. Artur Amaral (AJA Plastering) is unethical, does not meet timelines, and did not complete the scope of work as agreed. Contrary to his claims, we also learned his RI contractors registration / license has been suspended and he is uninsured.
