Smooth talker, RI garage builders seem so motivated and really interested in building my 2 car garage.
After agreeing with the terms we decide to get this project going. After taking my first payment of 3 installments.
I gave John a month to get all the require paperwork ( permits, engineering plans and excavation) to start the job so I let him do his job. I called a after a month and half to see what the status is. he said he working on it and will start the excavation part this coming week-end. Weekend came by John never showed up. I called to checkup on this. he said he had some family problems can couldn't start yet give him a week to sort out the problems which I obliged. 2 weeks later I called again to see what going on. he said it will start in 2 days. but John never showed up. after 2 months I started getting concerned I went to the city inspections to see if any permits were applied for. But none were.
After confronting him about the city permits he came by to take a look at the property with a tape measure or to pretend to take measurements. 2 week later I asked him politely and professionally if he is not gonna build my garage then return my initial first payment and we can part ways because he is in breach of contract with the timeline in building my garage by 2 weeks.
He tells me he will be there this week-end to start the excavation. Which he never showed up.
After making promise's of 7-8 times of showing up I got fed up with it. I went to my attorney to let him deal with this. My attorney tried contacting him got some replies that he would be over to start. this went on for a month with the same promises of showing up but never did.
So to make this short. after 5 months with nothing done to my land and no permits filed with the city. I decided to file suit to hopefully get my first payment back.
