Scott spent a lot of time making sure he had the right subcontractor to do the physical siding work and made a great choice, the house looks great - you can see it on their Facebook page! Scott organized all of the work, the dumpsters and the gutters once the siding was finished. It was great having someone like Scott making sure the work was getting done and done correctly while I was at work. By having a licensed general contractor involved, we had peace of mind with respect to the job being completed professionally and Scott was able to step in when repairs needed to be made. I have two examples of where having Scott really paid off:
1. There was a section of the house where a porch joined the house and there was significant wood rot. The sheathing if ever present was completely gone and the header over a large double window was rotted out. Repairing this was not in the scope of work, but Scott and Steve managed to fully repair it for me and sheath it over in new wood at no additional cost (he had a small sheathing budget). After he came inside and patched up some saw and nail holes in the inside of the wall that resulted from the repair, again even though he didn't not have to and I told him so - the attention to detail and focus on client satisfaction is great!
2. At the very end of the project as the crew was reattaching the clamps to the electrical line going from my meter to the house, they accidentally drove a screw through the line. Luckily there was no fire and aside from a minor zap to the installer, no one was hurt. Scott was at the house when I got home, had his electrician there that evening to evaluate the problem and had it fixed the following day. Since I had a backup generator, everyone felt safer having the main breaker off and having the electric company disconnect the line since the screw was energized. They made sure I was good to go on the generator and had gas before leaving for the night. Having Scott to deal with such a problem and make sure it was fixed correctly was great.
Aside from the contracted work, Scott and Steve were happy to walk around the house and let me pick there brains on other projects I had going on.
I will definitely use Allstar Team Construction next time I have a project that is too big to handle on my own.
