Quick update - after grading and hydroseeding my lawn in June, a large amount of the grass didn't take, and crabgrass flourished. John and crew came back last week and removed all the crabgrass and reseeded everything... for free! Everything is sprouting nicely now, and I am very happy

John and his crew were amazing. We bought a family-owned duplex that needed a complete gut and redo including hardscape and landscape. We wanted the current stairs covered with blue stone and fieldstone and new plants, seeding, new patio and stepping stones. His team worked beautifully at transforming what was once old and outdated to something new, fresh and modern. We cannot be more pleased by the results. The entire experience working with John was wonderful. He is extremely professional, responsive and communicative and the work was fairly priced in my mind. I would totally recommend him to anyone looking for an update both in landscaping and hardscaping and I would hire him again in a heart-beat! Another great experience with John & sons as we continued Phase 2 of our landscaping plan. As before, John's communication is fantastic, and he is always reachable via text. The entire crew is courteous, professional, and a pleasure to have on the property. The finished product is amazing, and I have received dozens of compliments. It is a dramatic transformation! I am looking forward to having John & Company back later this year for more landscaping, and next year to lay a large paver patio. I highly recommend John and Greenskeeper!

In a word - perfect! This is the biggest project I have had done on my house, and it is hands-down the best contractor experience I have ever had. To start, communication was fantastic. John, the owner, is prompt in replying to calls, emails, and texts. He proactively kept me in the loop with everything that was going on. It took a few months to get a permit from the town, and he gave me status updates weekly up until they were ready to start. At that point the crew, including John's son Jake, were on-site daily for about 4 weeks. I live by the bay, so they took extra steps to prevent mud runoff from the excavation by containing their work with hay barriers and silt fences. It was fun watching the demo, then the wall go up bit-by-bit each day. On inspection day, the town inspector commented that their work was a perfect example and he will document my specific wall as an example of "how to do it right". Talk about peace of mind! Throughout the project, John was supportive of last minute choices of things like paver style/placement, and it was no problem to take apart and remove a stair base that I decided I wanted in a different spot. I need to sum up by saying working with Greenskeeper was an absolute pleasure. I was very well taken care of, got exactly what I wanted, and the results are stunning! They will be back in the spring to seed grass where they worked, and I have already worked with John to plan a large backyard project and side yard project for next year.

Couldn’t be happier with John and Greenskeeper. They worked hard, wee prompt, and did what they said they were going to do. And they did it beautifully. Pleasure to work with them.

My first review, submitted on 02/06/2015, was based on the initial portion of our landscaping project done by the Greenskeeper in the late fall of 2014. The plan was to continue the project in the spring of 2015. I gave him a glowing review for the work he did in the fall but never followed up with an update on how the entire project turned out, something I have regretted ever since. It’s now three years later and I am still fixing things and re-planting and being annoyed. Endless pieces of the project went wrong with the rest of what we contracted John to do and it all turned out to be a huge and expensive disappointment! The workmanship was shoddy, there was no design plan from John whatsoever, no instructions from him were given to his crew that he left alone to their devices all day, subpar plants and shrubs were used - most of which did not survive, there was no rhyme or reason to his choices of plantings, no design was presented for around the pond, and it was a general slipshod and hurried performance to say the least. In the end, after so many things had to be fixed or redone, we just got too aggravated with him and his attempts at repairs that we asked him to leave. He had such glowing reviews on Angie's List when we hired him, that I now have to believe were written by relatives. John is a pleasant and likeable person and it’s very easy to trust him to do the right thing. It turns out that has not been our experience. Of all the professionals we have hired over the years to do various projects in or outside of our house, this has been the only one that left us feeling totally 'ripped off.'

Upon moving into our new home, we came to the realization that there were many issues with our yard. After consulting Angie's List, we found Greenskeeper. From the onset, we were impressed with John's knowledge, responsiveness, and professionalism. He, along with a family member of ours who is a landscape architect, collaborated throughout the project. This was a pretty big project, and we were getting started late in the season. John came by to assess the project and provided us with a quote very quickly. He, along with his son, Jake, and his team started working within a week. Throughout the project, John kept open and frequent communication to gain our input and to be sure that we were happy with the progress. As part of the plan, John worked together with the company that put in our sprinkler system. This coordination ensured that the project moved forward smoothly. Over the course of the project, as issues arose (caused by weather, etc.), John resolved each of them quickly without hesitation. We looked forward to coming home from work each day to see the progress unfolding. John, Jake, and the rest of the team engaged with us readily and were excited to talk about and show us what they had completed that day. Landscaping can be messy work, but John's team was methodical each day in cleaning up our property. It is clear that all of the staff at Greenskeeper take pride in their work and aim to deliver high quality service. John is very connected within the community and was able to provide us with referrals for other services. He also has a great eye and design aesthetic. His input and suggestions elevated our initial expectations for the project. Many of our neighbors stopped by throughout the project to compliment the work and John's team. A couple of them even hired Greenskeeper for projects of their own. Our experience with Greenskeeper was nothing short of amazing. We look forward to continuing our relationship with John and his team as we already have plans for the spring.

John and his crew installed driveway pavers and steps. They did an excellent job. They were punctual, professional and the work turned out great. We will call them again for future projects.

Fantastic! John and his crew were great with followup, attention to detail, cleanup & communication! He clearly has a lot of expertise, put together a great plan to address a big drainage issue and improve the landscaping overall. I contacted John in the late Spring about doing this work and he suggested that, if it worked for us, to wait until September or October - that the grass would take better and there would be fewer weeds. His team did a great job and a month later the grass has taken quite nicely. We're very pleased and would recommend Greenskeeper without a second thought.

Excellent. John is very responsive and is very good at balancing the customers requests with his expertise in the field. We had a basic idea of what we were looking for, but John had the "vision" to help us redesign our yard. It's now looking great and the hydro seed has given way to new grass. Some of our space is still a "canvas" that might accommodate future work, but for now we have more usable space and a yard that is eye-pleasing instead of an eye-sore!

John and his crew at Greenskeeper did an excellent job on landscaping the front of my house. I wanted low maintenance plants and shrubs that would give me high curb appeal. My yard is beautiful now. I live on a corner and everyone in my neighborhood has been stopping to remark on the transformation. It looks like a different house! John was nice, professional and extremely thoughtful in his design. He listened to what I wanted and came through. His guys were friendly and knowledgable as well. Each had worked at Greenskeeper for over 10 years. John also followed up to see how the plants were doing. I have already recommended him to neighbors and coworkers. I interviewed 4 landscapers. Installed new lawn free landscaping (design, rock area, and planting). He did a fine job in planning, starting, and finishing the project. However, after one week, weeds were growing and spreading all over the newly completed lawn free yard, which completely defeats the purpose of installing a lawn free yard. I requested ?after-care service? to take care of the weeds and John agreed to do so (multiple times on the phone and via email), but he did not provide adequate ?after-care service,? which is very disappointing; hence, I ended up spending many hours pulling the weeds by hand and using weed killing chemicals. Weeds are still growing and spreading all over the lawn free yard.
