Our half acre property had become overgrown over the years and we wanted someone to come in and clear out the flower beds and trim the bushes so that it would be easier for us to maintain going forward. After getting quotes from three different guys, we decided to go with David.

Initially the work was going well and he mulched the front yard. In the back yard there were some vines that he thought might be poison ivy, so he made my husband spray them before he would work in those areas. He came back to do some more work, but then would not work in two areas due to birds nests. We made an agreement to finish paying him since he was mostly done and that he would come back in the Fall after the birds migrated to complete the job.

After contacting him a few times and even seeing him at the grocery store one time, he still has not come back over a year later. I was waiting for him to complete the job before submitting a review, but we have decided to find someone else to complete the job.

The Yard Doktor is absolutely the worst contractor I have hired. He is very unprofessional, not on time and has a lot of excuses on his bad service.

I had a 7-months lawn service contract with The Yard Doktor in which the contractor must cut the grass weekly. It had not meet the requirement since the beginning. In first two months, extreme service delay happened twice already: the contractor didn't come to cut grass for over 3 weeks. I have expressed my complaint through phone calls and emails but the complaint is never directly addressed. He has used excuses like rain, seeds planted etc. However, to keep the grass from growing wildly in a rainy season, it is a must to cut at least biweekly. Other contractors have done cutting on Saturdays or late afternoons if that is the only good time a cut can be done. However, this contractor won't do that. After I called him because the grass became very tall, he would only come three or more days later. Cutting grass and make sure the lawn look ok was the primary reason I hired the contractor. In July, I was very disappointed with the service and thus decided to end the contract and ask for refund. He agreed on that and said he would send me detailed bill and a refund check. I thought this would be the end. However, that was just the beginning of another terrible experience. First, the charges on individual services are unreasonably high. The monthly charge under the contract was $140. In his detailed bill, he charged me $680 for 2 months' service. I was busy at that time and didn't have time to argue with him, so I accepted that and just told him I think the charge is too high, but I won't argue with that, just send me the refund as soon as possible. Then I went for a 3-week trip. I thought I would receive the refund check when I was back. No, nothing was received. No email or anything. I was angry, I sent him an email, asking for the status. I got no response. 3 days later I sent another email, stating if I don't hear from him by end of that week, I'll go to court, write reviews on websites etc. And he didn't respond until I sent him another email on that Friday. There are a lot more hassles that I won't go into details here. The truth is, 3 months has passed since we ended the contract and I haven't received anything yet. I know I have wasted too much time on such a dishonest person. However I won't let him get away with my money easily. I would rather give it to those who deserve it, or donate to someone who needs it.

They did high quality work, and were very easy to deal with.

I am very pleased with the appearance of our yard. It was indeed an eyesore. David was able to bring the front yard back to life. I would highly recommend the service to anyone.

We called this contractor on a Thursday. They said they would come out the next day to leave us an estimate but we didn't receive anything. We called the following Monday and Tuesday to get a status but our calls were not returned.

David is great. He explained thoroughly what he planned to do to help us get our lawn back. Honest and high quality work. We would definitely hire him again to take care of our lawn and property.

I found David through Angie's list and have been very pleased from our first conversation to the present (3 months later). He was on time for our first meeting and was well prepared and clear about the services and cost. His fees are higher than my earlier service BUT their work was haphazard, his is perfect, they didn't always appear regularly and didn't do all they promised, David does it all beautifully and does it better than I anticipated. He has even done extras on occasion without charge. He is polite, pleasant, thoughtful and leaves the lawns looking as though this was an estate. He does even more than I contracted for. He does all the work himself so it is always done to his high standards. I am very pleased. I recommend him without hesitation.

He is very responsible. They always show up on time to do the work. They are very courteous when they are there working. It is him and his kids that do the work.
