"she then signed the two proposals (which are available) and i explained to herv that we would not be able to start the work before August 15, 2019 because of our work load at the time she said that would be fine, i explained that we would contact her the week prior so she and her husband would be able to remove the brick veneer that was on the front of her house(she felt the cost for our mason was to expensive) she was notified on on August 8,2019 that we would be starting her job on the 15th as agreed, several days later we receive a phone call from her stating that there was a problem and could we come to the house which we did at that time she told us that the foundation under her porch was all rotted. explained to her that we could do the work to repair the foundation as it was not in our contract. i would do the drawing necessary to give to the building inspector. i did not need a drawing to do the work as stated on the contract. just a written explanation for the building inspector. she did not to get a permit, i explained to her that as a licensed contractor i could not do that work without a permit she got very upset and said she would have her handiman do the work i explained that without a permit she would have a problem, it didn't seem to matter but she would discuss it with her husband. we had set aside two weeks to complete her job, we did not her from her for several months. when we did we told her that 2because of the work load that we had we would reschedule her as soon as we couldbut we were several months away.we next spoke in january we told her as soon as the weather breaks we would be there, we had all inside work to complete and her work was on the exterior. soon that my son was communicating with michael her husband he was told it would be 2 to 3 weeks and her wwould contact him thwe week before the next we heard was from Mrs Flaherty that she was contacting the attorney general . we were ready and able to do the work as agreed on August 15,2019 but ghey were not reasdy and did not want us to pull a permit or repair the foundation. regarding 47 walnut road it was t0 install a new beam in the basement to level the 1st floor as someone had installed a beam improperly. when we met on august 4th i had a change order to use the deposit for 47 walnut on 40 walnut because she said she hired a structural engineer and it was the staircase that was causing the problem i said i would like to talk to the engineer but she declined.(i believe she did no such thing ) at this point we have a hearing with the contractors board to try to resolve the issue. i believe she had someone do the work that we a contract for. so she is in breach of our contract. which she is liable for we also had a verbal contract to complete insurance work on 47 walnut rd the upstairs toilet leaked and there was considerable water damage to the downstairs. she asked me if i would meet with the insurance company i said i would . she introduced me to the adjuster as her contractor that would be completing the work. the adjuster and i agreed on the work to be completed at that point we made several trips back to the house with our people who would be completing the work . we 2had all the prices put together and submitted the proposal to her (15,980.00) she submitted the proposal to the insurance co . she received the money for completing the work. and after telling the insurance co i would be doing the work she gave all the work to someone else. when my people we waiting to do the work for her . i also at that time contacted (PFR) Providence Fire REstoration to come and do the remediation work and remove the water that in the house do to the leakining toilet. a this point she is in my view in breach of another contract.i have submittede a bill to her for preparing the estimate for the insurance work which will be deleted from the contract amount when the work is completed. i am a"
"I gave this person a price to complete the work in there bathroom, everything that we were doing was outlined in the proposal. There was additional work that had to be done. The owner was aware of the additional work. Since I was unable at the time to go back to the job, I had my son who was in charge of the job explain the reason for the additional charge. I spoke to the homeowner on the phone and also explained the additional labor charge. He said he was watching his money because he was not working and had to be careful not to spend to much The bathroom was from the 1920s and nothing was level and he was aware of the problem ."
