Dana only called us one time to notify us about the crack in one of the legs of one of our chairs. We approved the repair. Then we waited two weeks for an update which never occurred. My wife called him to ask him if the fabric had arrived and how the work was progressing. He advised my wife that the work was underway. I called him one week later to find out when our chairs would be completed. Dana who was very friendly during the initial sales visit, was curt during our brief telephone conversation.
On the 27th day (June 9th, 2014), he called my wife from his vehicle at 6:34pm that he was and quot;just pulling out of Barrington, RI, to deliver our chairs. During our telecom, he advised me that he could deliver the chairs during the weekend, June 7th or June 8th. or alternatively on Monday or Tuesday, June 9th or June 10, 2014. When he delivered the upholstered chairs and seat pads, Dana was very uncommunicative and was unfriendly, unlike his behavior during his first visit. I asked him about the 5% Senior discount and he replied, and quot;I'm a seniorand quot; which I considered an inappropriate and sarcastic reply. The 5% is certainly not a deal breaker, but if he advertises a 5% discount on Angie's List, he should honor it. I notified Angie's list to remove the 5% discount because Dana Welshman does not honor it. When I elected to pay him with our Visa card, he did not have his merchant banking device to process my credit card. In fact, he didn't even have a pen to write down the details of my CC. My wife and I were surprised and chagrined about Mr. Welshman's behavior and his lack of interest in communicating with us during the work period. After I provided him with my credit card details, he failed to provide us with a detailed receipt for the work and repair. His behavior during the delivery of our chairs was strange. I would not recommend him to anyone because of his lack of business professionalism.

Overall the whole experience was good. I would hire Dana again.

Dana was extremely responsive to messages left on his voicemail. I heard from him within an hour of my first call and he continued to be as prompt in all future communications. Dana came to my home to give me an estimate for the job and wound up taking the chairs with him that day. I had made some inquiries with other upholsterers and found his rate to be consistent with most of them. Note: because I provided the fabric (i.e., didn't buy through him), the charge per chair was a little higher. Dana gave a realistic projection for completion of the project (3-4 weeks) and delivered the reupholstered chairs to my home within the estimated timeframe.
In terms of the quality of the work, I had purchased what I believed was an ample amount of fabric for 8 chairs. As it turns out, I had barely enough for the job. However, although I told him it was not necessary to exactly match the pattern (repeat) on all the chairs, Dana was able to make it work--all 8 seats are exactly the same. I was floored by how good the chairs look and have already given Dana's number to several friends. Highly recommend!

They were excellent; nothing but the best! They were very easy to work with and had great integrity.

I asked for any remaining remnants because I wanted to re-cover two bar stools myself. There wasn't enough remaining, so Dana found something similar and just gave it to me. I was very satisfied with how quickly the work was done, also.

EVERYTHING IS CHARGED INDIVIDUALLY. FOR EXAMPLE, $1000 FOR ONE WINDOW OR $100 FOR SLIP COVERS. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE, BUT DO EXCELLENT WORK. THEIR WORKMANSHIP IS EXCELLENT AND THINGS DO LOOK VERY NICE WHEN FINISHED.
