Great; property was a full rehab and inspection was thorough. Found an issue with the chimney ducting that I cold not have identified myself, which was a fire code violation and required repair before occupancy, saving me a substantial headache and money! Inspector was on time and explained his process as he went, in addition to providing thorough reports.

General Home Inspection

My husband and I asked Doug to inspect two homes for us and we would hire him for a third if we needed it. Doug is professional, he knows what he’s doing, he works FOR YOU. He explains what he sees throughout the inspection and helps you grasp what you’re looking at and for during the most stressful time of your life.

I have done multiple inspections with Doug, I used him for my own personal property along with friends and family.  Awesome guy, looks at every knick and cranny that he can see.  He goes in, does his job, and calls it what it is.  Price is very competitive, Hi highly recommend as I have been doing.

The inspector was great.  He fit me in when no one else could, and I need the inspection done right away.  He was very thorough and explained everything to me, which was especially helpful because I've never owned a house and have no one else to help me with anything.  He went above and beyond by not only explaining his inspection and everything along with it but he also gave me tips and hints as to how to maintain the house.  For example he showed me how to take off the radiator covers and explained how to clean them and how often to clean them to keep them running effectively.  I can't say enough good things about this inspector.  I felt very comfortable with him and that he was inspecting the home and making sure it was safe enough for his own child to live there.  If I ever decided to move and buy a new house I would absolutely use Amerispec Home Inspection again and I highly recommend them!

We have nothing but great things to say about Doug's service. We used him twice this year--most recently on Sept. 29, 2012.
The reason we used him twice was because the first time he found termite damage that the seller tried to hide. This was the best money we ever spent, we would have bought the house had he not discovered the termite problem.
When we decided to buy the second property we knew it wasn't going to happen without a once-over by Doug. He is incredibly thorough with his inspection and provided detailed reports the same day that helped our realtor write a letter and provide a list to the seller of items that required attention. We are moving forward on this home and feel good about it because Doug inspected it.
Doug was able to perform the inspection during short-notice at a time convenient for us. He went over every square inch of the house. He wasn't an alarmist making us panic and stress out. He explained calmly issues that the house had that were in need of fixing up and addressing immediately, and he offered suggestions for things we could do at a later date if we felt like it. He is extremely knowledgeable regarding gutters, downspouts and moving water away from the house to keep it from flooding and accumulating moisture and humidity in the foundation.
