Description of Work: We had just purchased a new home and called Paul to inspect our oil and wood furnace, plus give a quote on installing central A/C. On his first trip out for $89, Paul inspected and serviced our oil furnace and gathered all information needed to give us a quote for further work. Included in a $5000 contract: Installed 2-stage 16 SEER central A/C unit, custom ductwork with weighted dampers for more efficient operation between the oil and wood furnaces and a capped T for planned addition in the future, cleaned chimney, put caps on chimney, transported heating oil I purchased from someone else. The $5000 price included a discount because we did a lot of the tear-down work ourselves to save them time on the day of installation. While performing work on the chimney, Paul and his partner noticed degradation of the mortar in the chimney and suggested it get recrowned. This was done for an additional $485. Total cost of $5574 between multiple visits.

Description of Work: We needed a new furnace (steam boiler). A friend had recommended this one person to come and assist me. He installed and I paid for the completely wrong furnace. He put in a hot water boiler instead of a steam boiler. Needless to say my pipes started leaking. I had tried several other people but nobody wanted to come and help me. I asked at work again - but my trust ratio was very low. A friend of mine who does a lot of his own work and knows a lot about contractors recommended Paul Schneider (Quality Home Energy). I called Paul. He gave me an estimate of what it would cost. He worked with me on a time that would work for me in order to install the new furnace and remove the old one. I felt like such an idiot for allowing that other person to steal my money. Paul was extremely understanding. He was very professional. I also had a leak in the one pipe after the furnace was installed. He came back that night and patched the pipe. He then gave me an estimate for replacement of that pipe and then came with in a few days at my convenience and his and replaced that pipe. Believe me when I say that was no small pipe. He is extremely dependable and trustworthy. I am so glad that I found Paul for all my heating needs. Recently I had to call him for something else and he was able to help me over the phone as once again it was me just being me and being stupid about what I was doing. A big thank you to Paul for all that he did. I have his number in my cell phone. I certainly don't want to lose that number. You won't regret having Paul Schneider as your heating specialist!
