"Thank you for the kind remarks"
"Thank you for your kind response, hope to serve you in the future. Tom Tomayko"
"Thank you for the kind remarks, I am happy to be fair and reasonable with all my customers to build that relationship of trust and ongoing business!"
did everything I needed him to do. When he got here after I showed him everything he could help me repair and he got right to work. If I ever need something else repaired I will call him. I recommend him for anyone who needs something repaired.
I want to provide one incident to set the tone of the rating and remember, Hand Me The Hammer was subcontracting and did not do the initial measurements, etc.
When Hand Me The Hammer (Tom) arrived, he disconnected the plumbing and removed the counter tops and old cabinets. When he moved in the replacement cabinets, they were two inches taller than the old cabinets. There was an existing mirror glued to the wall and the installing the higher cabinets would overlap the bottom of the mirror. Tom's solution? Push the cabinet back against the mirror and then tell my wife he would "fill in the gap". While technically this would have worked for the cabinet, filling in the gap of the counter top and back splash would have been a mess. The correct solution was to remove the mirror, cut it down reset the mirror and then install the cabinet back against the wall. The primary contractor had to intervene and stop the installation.
This is one of several instances where Tom wanted to push ahead to get the job done when things were not right.
Summary: The work Tom did was good. However, he is a handyman, not a contractor. In his profile, he says: Services Do Not Include: most projects that would include extensive remodeling or multiple days to complete would not be performed. [...] [Emphasis added]
Heed this. As the job slowed, Tom repeatedly complained that he had "other work to do" and he "needed to get this done". I think if we used Tom for a one day job, his rating might be higher.
