The entire experience was a good one, due to the friendliness and knowledge of the employees. They were very thorough and professional and also friendly. It was sad, quite a shock, to see so many animals without homes, they have hundreds of cats! All looked healthy and well cared for considering the circumstances, having to be caged, but they were clean and well fed. You could tell some of the animals that hadn't been there long and were unhealthy and being treated back to good health. There were people everywhere cleaning pens and taking care of the animals which I'm sure, due to the amount of animals there, is an ongoing process. We highly recommend, if you are looking to adopt a pet, or just thinking about it, please go to York SPCA, it was a nice place to adopt a pet and so many to choose from too. We are delighted with our new dog, it worked out perfect.r.

I went there because our previous dog had passed and the other one was mobie. We had two dogs for quite a while and so after a year of not having two dogs we decided to get one. They have different rates for the dog depending upon the age of the dog. They actually had moved to a new facility and it is bigger than the other one and it is nicer. People are very nice and they let you look at them leisurely and they bring different ones out in the yard so that you can get to know the dog. They are not a No-Kill shelter and I hate to think that the eventually put down a dog if they don't find a shelter. They sometimes put their pets at the pet care we go to and some in the pet stores.
