TruGreen Lawn Care - 5033

It's going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage TruGreen has done to my property. There are large sections of my lawn where the grass is now completely gone as the result of improperly applying fertilizer and burning the grass. Before TruGreen my lawn was healthy and pothole free. I am also now dealing with a mosquito infestation. This after 7 treatments from TruGreen during 2022. Again, I never had this issue with my previous lawn care service. Avoid at all costs if you value your lawn.

Tried to sign up for annual service last year but it was a nightmare & hours on the phone & could not get anyone from York TruGreen to visit & evaluate my lawn or call to discuss with me by phone or email. Could only talk to & sign up w/ out of state call center so I ended up cancelling before service began. So this year tried again telling call center I want local on site evaluation before I sign up & now Joe , York's TruGreen manager says they won't come to a property to evaluate the lawn . They just want you to sign with their out of state call centers & start blind services. I have lawn fungus that needs expertise & York now insinuates they don't have that expertise. Really? Then who does?

The company makes a moss control product but will not apply it to my lawn. Instead they make excuses as to why not. They totally ignored my weed problem.

Poor customer service. Seemed to rush from job to job with weeds still remaining in the yard even after repeated visits. Would cancel appointments and not reschedule the work sometimes until weeks later.

They're a standard service. They do what they're supposed to do.

Trugreen destroyed my lawn- big huge weeds and large brown spots. The shrubs are yellow and not pretty fall color yellow. Hired a local company to fix what they did. Waiting times on hold were 20 minutes plus today (never waited more than a few minutes with Scotts). When I called about the shrubs on 9/1 I was told that someone would be out within three days. 8 days later, no one. Customer service said it was 'not scheduled yet'. Used to get a nice printout as to how my lawn was doing and what the tech did. Now, a couple of lines of nothing. They were scheduled to come on on a monday, did not come, did not call. The absolute worst change in service I have seen in a very long time. One Scotts lawn guy told me that they now had to get on board with 'selling Trugreen' and their lousy customer service. Going with a local company- this has been an awful experience.

I have two lines of trees on my property and they spray just them. The service is pretty good. The workers are friendly.   They are very prompt. I would tell a friend that Tru Green is a pretty good company. They call before they come. They do everything good. When I am not at home, I trust them to do a good job.

Bernie sold me on the program,  Matt discussed specific weed control, insect and disease problems.

I expected that once on the program there would be pressure to add services.  However, I am pleasantly surprised that they

 listen to what I want to pay, and what I am willing to forgo in additional options without any hassle.  I spoke with Trevor Barninger, Branch Sales Manager, who told me treating grass fungus would be a waste of money.  I could not believe my ears.  I expected that to be  reason to add services.  Very knowledgeable, honest, and I get the same application person.  Also if you need them to come back anytime for weed treatment they will do so at no additional charge. 

I had lots of weeds, wild strawberry, violets, and other very invasive species.  I had been treating the weeds for several years myself without much success.  Felt like I was feeding the weeds.  Yard looks much better now after only one year and it's much better to watch someone else do the work.

I've had a very good experience with them, they've always been very kind, very helpful in answering my question and they're very willing to come out if I have a problem, I really appreciate their work.

We started using TruGreen after having a completely new lawn planted in May 2013 through a referral from the landscaping company. Prior to this, we have not had good luck at all with lawn treatment companies, and I thought this going to be much the same. We were originally referred to the TruGreen commercial side of the house, which, rightfully so, referred us to the residential side of the house; however, the residential side of the house really didn't seem to think we existed. Because the only phone number I had was for the commercial office, that's what I called. Finally, that manager came out and looked at the lawn and realized that no one from the residential office was treating the lawn. He had his commercial technicians treat the lawn. That manager has stayed on top of it ever since. I have worked directly with him. This year, I have started the tree service. He is still making sure that everything goes smoothly. I am extremely grateful to Mike McCullar. He has been very patient with me and has taught me a lot about my lawn. He understand that I just want it to look nice. He also understands that we really need TruGreen to call ahead due to having four dogs that we can't have running around on the grass immediately after the lawn is treated. Mike has worked hard to get the technicians to call ahead as well. After a slow start, I have been pleased with TruGreen's results, but, mostly, I have been very pleased with Mike's great customer service.

I'd give them an A on the price and the guy was really good, but the service wasn't that great. And when I was calling to cancel the service, they continually hung up on me. I had to call the corporate headquarters to get somebody to help me cancel service. It was particularly cumbersome and I would not recommend them. You never knew what they were going to do, they never gave you a schedule of when they were going to come out. They just showed up in the morning and woke my family up.
