Village Chimney Sweeps arrived at the scheduled time, and was able to complete all of the quoted work ahead of schedule. They were open to me observing their work, and allowed me to ask questions at different parts of the job. Because the quoted work was finished ahead of schedule, I elected to have Village Chimney Sweeps also install a new mantle piece above the fireplace to use up the rest of the quoted man hours. I was very happy with the quality of work, and the professional service and communication that accompanied the work. I would recommend Village Chimney Sweeps to any homeowner with a chimney or fireplace in need of repair. They were certainly able to handle repairs to my aged structure.

Gary and Joann were incredible to work with in a time when excellent customer service and craftsmanship are difficult to come by. From the planning stages to project completion my husband and I were impressed. On the one occasion that we brought up a concern Gary rectified it immediately and thoroughly. The attention to detail was evident all along and we are enjoying the finished project immensely!

Professional, courteous, and punctual,but most importantly......knowledgeable. When we had the house built, the builder's guy that installed the fireplace made a number of mistakes and the builder grade fireplace was not acceptable unless you like lighting a fire that sucks all the warm air out of your house. I sought out someone to correct these issues and install a woodstove in our basement. I talked with several people, in the business of repair and installation, who clearly did not know what they were doing. They said things like, "I think we can do this...", or "Maybe we can do that...." and seemed uncertain in general. It reminded me of the old Aamco transmission commercial where the greasy looking mechanic at the no-name shop says, "I always wanted to fix a transmission boss". Within a minute of speaking with Gary, I knew he was the one to help us. He knew what he was talking about and he had a pretty good idea what the cost was going to be depending upon what he found once he opened it up. He was quickly able to correct the many mistakes and bring it up to code. I realize that sometimes building codes can be a little ridiculous, but when it comes to those regarding a controlled fire inside a wooden structure that is my home, I don't want rules and regulations to be ignored. Gary is as particular as I am and there isn't anyone else in the York, Hanover, Gettysburg area who knows what they're talking about. I know because I talked to them all. I don't trust anyone else to even clean my chimney and I recommend the Village Chimney Sweeps without any reservations.
