When Tim Carrs kids are not in school he takes them to the job site. These kids have no one to watch over them and they are not well behaved children. I was not home most of the time he was working as I also work. The first day they scraped the old shingles off the roof. I came home from work right when they were finishing up. All four of his kids were climbing up an extension ladder, running across the roof, jumping down on the top of the cab of the dump truck, sliding down the windshield , sliding across the hood of the truck, jumping to the ground and running around to the ladder to do it all again. All this was going on while these workers were trying to workon the roof. The Carrs didn't even seem to notice that their children could be in harms way. My father stated that this kind of behavior was going on all day. Acting like a professional did not happen on this job. This was one of the reason why my father did not tell me about the bathroon leak. He had just about had it with the Carrs and their kids.
Description of Work: July 2006 I hired Tim Carr Constuction to replace a roof on a trailer. He was going to replace some of the roof with shingles and some with rolled roofing. Rolled roofing must be cheaper as he replaced the whole roof with rolled roofing which he nailed on and then applied a caulking compound to the top of the nail heads,,,the caulking weathered away and holes were left in the roof...which of course as soon as we received a heavy rain the roof started to leak...He was send a letter telling him of the problem and he ignored the whole notice... When I did see him he stated that the state only requires him to give a years warranty and after that, well tough. Had known of the shoddy workmanship I would have never hired him. He put a room addition on also in 2006 and it looked nice. It was right after he finished the addition that I hired him to do the trailer roof. Had I known that in 21 months time the new addition was going to leak I would have never hired him to replace the trailer roof. The very first hard rain after the new trailer roof was installed left a mess of water in the bathroom. It seems when they scraped off the old shingles they also knocked the bathroom vent loose and never fixed it. You can see by the pictures the water damages. My father did not tell me about the water leak as he did not want me to call the Carrs and have them come back to repair the roof. He had had enough of the Carrs and their children. My father who is 90 years old this year proceeded to get up on the roof and put a tar patch around the vent. Fast forward to July 2009 and the roofing on what I am calling a over hang started to leak. That is when I sent the letter to Tim stating that fact. He was not interested in fixing the problem nor addressing it. So off to court again. Same Magistrate Savidge as in the sunroom addition. This hearing was for Jan 19, 2010. According to Marilyn Carr ( Tims mother) Savidge is good buddies with her and her husband. I really didn't think that should matter, but now I think it does. He found the Carrs not liable.. The pictures that I am posting are the same ones he saw. but he saw more of them. So I appealed and the court date was set for March 22, 2011. Shortly before that date the Carrs decided that they wanted to "settle". I too am quite sick of the Carrs and this whole mess. I have learned a very valuable lesson and if I ever need another contractor I will check more into backgrounds and references. Never listen to a mother who exclaims that her son does wonderful work. Mrs. Carr used to be a friend of mine, but needless to say, that friendship is over. Carr Construction does very shoddy work and if confronted about it they cop an attitude.

It did not go well. When I called the Carrs about the leaking ceiling they did come down right away....the whole conversation consisted of "this is going to take too much work, you have to move all this furniture out of here, take the fan lights down, replace all the dry wall.. this is not my fault, its an act of God, this was caused by a ice jam. but he will get back to me..............six weeks or so I called the Carrs again, and yes he would be getting back to me...............I am not sure how much time went by and still no word so I called one more time..............well, this time he is going to get some estimates written up and he would be getting back to me......yep, you guessed it, never heard another word from them.....Begining of November I got another contractor in to give me an estimate to replace the roof.....called the Carrs the middle of November and told them how much it was going to cost....the conversation got heated as he said if I would have called him one more time why they would come and fix the problem.....he also said that I had two years use out of the room, what more did i want.....I told him he could sent me a check and we could settle out of court or I was going to sue him,...he said I should go ahead and sue as i didn't have a warranty....and when I asked hime if this was how he ran his company he hung up on me..........well, I took him to court and he was found liable.........the roof that he put on this addition was too flat for shingles,,,,you need a pitch of at least 2/12 and he had less that 1/12...so the water just lays on top of the shingles and can't run off, so it starts to seep thru....he had no defense, all he did in court was to call me names......I thought the judge left the name calling go on for too long, but he too, got tired of it and told them that he had had enough.... I know the Carrs were very angry, but I was the one whose house has been devalued..........I am waiting for my check to arrive..........he has thirty days in which to pay.........so, the roof is still not repaired, but I put a tarp over it........I am a senior citizen and feel that no one should be treated in this fashion
Description of Work: I contracted for 24 by 16 sunroom..plus a 16 by 30 deck....Tim Carr Construction consists of Tim and his wife Heidi...so the room was not build fast, but that was okay...the workmanship was fair, the windows are not all even and the trim work around the windows have large gaps....I left that slide...even when he wired a 220 line and made it look like a 110....I had a real electrican come in and fix that mistake..it was 21 months later when the whole ceiling started to leak that I got very concerned
