We got two estimates and he came in the lowest. He arrived to do the job about 30 minutes late. When he came out to give me an estimate he said two coats should be enough and that a primer wasn't necessary. It became quite apparent when he finished the job that he should have put a primer on since it was yellow being painted over a dark green and this color bled through. In fairness to him, the other estimate I got said that I would just need two coats and a primer wasn't necessary. In my opinion he did not wait long enough for the first coat to dry and that is why the second coat did not cover too well. My suggestion to him was to come back another day after it dries and put up another coat to see if it helps. He agreed to come back the following week. When it came time to pay him, I made the mistake of paying him in full, but to my surprise, he did come back the following week to put another coat on and we were satisfied with the results. Another coat made the difference. Bottom line is that this was a simple job and at the end of the day for the price we paid, we were satisfied with his work and the fact that he came back to finish the job after we paid him in full, says something about his integrity.

If you want to have to police painters,check up on their work and have an overall stressful experience, then hire this guy. They painted the front of shutters (and not the back) sealed the windows shut and then looked like it was a hassle when we asked them to unseal them, promised to do work they never did - (i.e.,fix shutters that needed to be glued, fill in underneath window), and destroyed landscaping, ripped out a cable from the wall and left it hanging. We had to remind them to finish their work. Only one of the guys worked hard. One guy was let go during our job because he was allegedly on crack.
