It went great. I think they are probably too busy to have the things done to my house, of course it’s not that big but yeah, I will always have them back. Not only was the work great but they were very nice to work with.

Santos remodeled our bathroom and kitchen. He was great to work with and helped us from step 1 through completion. We went shopping for supplies together to ensure the design language fit with our house. I could not have asked for a more personable and nice guy to work with. The bathroom and kitchen are amazing, and we always gets compliments on the quality of work. Santos is very detail oriented and treats the project as if it was his own house. Many times he would see things that I wouldn't even notice and let me know that he was going to make it better. He worked with me on the price as I was on a tight budget, and showed me many ways to save costs along the way. I have no problem recommending Santos for any bathroom/kitchen work, and know his craftsmanship will last a long time!!

[TL;DR]
I endorse this contractor across the board. You will not be disappointed with his work. The following review is simply giving credit where credit is due.
The Job
We've had work done in our sun room several times over the last few years though it never received the right amount of attention. Water damage from a poorly installed roof had invariably reversed any improvements we had attempted. This fall we wanted to have it done right and we contacted Santos.
Meet & Greet
Liked Santos from the get-go because frankly, he's a likable guy. He's knowledgeable, thorough with his explanations and spoke in a way that clearly expressed that he loves what he does. We were desperately ready to have the renovations done and being engaged with an enthusiasm to match, even rival my own was satisfying. Honestly, Santos got me pumped up! His vision of what the end result was to be surpassed my own and his suggestions regarding different options and possibilities was eye opening. He didn't have to sell me anything because his ideas always left me to wonder, "Why didn't I think of that?! Santos seemed like our guy.
We ended up adding a bunch of different features like the flooring, finishing/enclosing the ceiling, and other things I couldn't imagine having overlooked. Adjusting the original estimate to add the extra work was a smooth process and in our opinion completely fair.
Work Flow
During the week and a half of work, Santos and I corresponded regularly. At the end of each day, he would ask me if I had a moment to walk the project area. He would give me the play by play on everything they did that day, covering each step in meticulous detail; a nice blend of modesty and pride.
Santos does not cut corners. I may have never noticed the difference in results about how a piece of material was cut with a purposeful precision,or how he had spent additional effort to fix a loose gutter that had nothing to do with the project area, but is it refreshing to know someone is treating your home regularly with this sort of special attention? Yes. Yes it is.
At the end of each day the work area was cleaner than it was before they arrived. A bit a saw dust or debris is expected during the weeks rituals of cutting. They were just kind enough to not leave any.
Above..and...beyond.
Towards the end of the project I had a copper pipe in the upstairs bathroom decide to begin leaking from a particularly inaccessible area near the underside of the tub and run down through the ceiling and wall of the first floor bathroom. With no valve available to isolate the problem I had to turn the water off to the house. Not a great way to start the day, I was in a bit of a pinch. I must emphasize a few things: Santos was not contracted to do plumbing work. Santos does not provide emergency maintenance service and Santos already had a full day booked for him and his associates BEFORE I pitched him a curveball-plight. He went to the store, got the materials the repair required, fixed the leak, and made it appear as if the whole thing was no big deal. I'm not going to lie; it sucked. The toilet had to be uninstalled (which obviously meant it had to be reseated, and REinstalled) to have a prayer of getting at the the elusively fit pipe and then only reachable from an awkward, contorted, and uncomfortable position. To me, it was a huge deal.
Conclusion
Santos doesn't barrel through his projects issuing direction to an army of laborers. He's a hands on pro. The guys he had with him were veterans, having been with him for quite a few years these guys were obviously cut from the same cloth. They put in some long days well into the evening to meet deadlines, always in their element and tonight was their last.. Far exceeding my expectations the work is gorgeous. They finished about an hour ago and it has been my pleasure to write this review.

My wife and I really shopped around when we wanted to get our basement re-finished. We had about ten different contractors come out to give us estimates, and each of them had their own twist on how to over-charge and how to rip off a prospective customer. Santos was the only one who came out who didn't give us a sick to the stomach feeling.
We had our basement flood out a couple years ago, and have been squirreling money away to try to save up and get a basement better than we had before. We knew it would cost a bit of money, but had no idea what most contractors had in mind. We figured that a new floor, new framing, new drywall and painting--basically replacement "in kind" of what was damaged-- would get us a fair estimate of $20,000-22,000. And if we wanted to add on a finished ceiling to replace the drop ceiling we had, and maybe add a powder room...Maybe that would put it in the high $20's to low $30's. We actually thought we were over shooting the cost, that it would probably be in the high teens....Well, we were shocked to hear the estimates keep rolling in to the tune of anywhere from $33,000-$40,000. We really thought we'd have to give up the basement as a loss, just use the previously finished basement as a laundry area and lose it as a great finished family area, because we couldn't afford the repairs.
When Vega Builders came out, we were so pleasantly surprised. The original estimate was not only far more affordable than what the other contractors had offered... BUT IT INCLUDED A FINISHED SHEETROCK CEILING AND FULL BATHROOM ON TOP OF THE BARE MINUMUM RE-FINISHING WE NEEDED, AT $12000 LESS THAN THE NEXT CHEAPEST ESTIMATE. No jokes...No short-cuts on the -work...No BS....Just fair pricing for quality work.
To be honest, my wife and I at first were sort of skeptical of the quality of work we would receive when we got an estimate that was so much more affordable. We thought we would get some second-hand quality work, or see some obvious corners being cut. But we were involved in every step along the way, were apprised of every aspect and were not scammed or short-changed in any way...and ended up with a finished product so much nicer than what we originally had in mind. Santos was absolutely willing to work with our original ideas, but wasn't afraid to suggest some of his own ideas that definitely improved on what we had in mind. While we were looking to just add a functional bathroom to add to the value of our house, we actually ended up with my wife's favorite bathroom in the entire house.
To sum up, Vega Builders really did exceed our expectations. We couldn't be happier with the work, and are happy to have found our new future contractor/handyman that we can trust.

The workmanship was impeccable and they were very clean and professional while they were here. The problem was that I never knew when to expect them. They'd say they'd come at a certain time on a certain day, and then they'd arrive several hours late, or not show up at all until the next day. They said they were unusually busy that week, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I would definitely use them again because the work speaks for itself.

Santos visited the site, returned with a quick bid and started work within a few days. The job was completed within the timeframe to which he committed. The work was done expertly, workers were considerate, and the job site was left clean after completing work each day and at the end of the week all waste was removed. He were extremely pleased to have the walls paint ready in one week for an exceptional price. We plan on contacting Santos for an additional project.

Santos responded to all my emails, and has above average communication skills for a contractor (!)
As already outlined this was a consultation only, so I cannot comment on his project management skills at this time.

I had been considering getting my countertops redone for about 4 years. The island had been done in granite 5 years ago. I initially contacted the company that had done my island top. I was given an estimate of $3500. I decided to look for someone on Angie's List. Santos contacted me the same day I emailed the request and we set up an appointment for within a week. He has been the ultimate professional from day 1. When he came out to look at the counters, he offered to give me an estimate for Corian and granite. Both estimates were good -- compared to my first estimate. Because we have wanted granite for so long, we opted for the granite work.. I am very pleased with the results--done on time, with quality and within my budget. The kitchen looks great and I am already discussing other work in the house that we'd eventually like to get done. We intend to use Vegas Builders for all future work.

With a 1 year old we were in need of more living space! Vega Builders were the first contractors to get back to us, came in at the best price, and they broke down each work item by price so we knew how much would be spent on all materials and labor! Other contractors quotes simply broke the project into general "materials" and "labor."
We had an unfinished, concrete slab floor, cinder block walled, exposure ceiling beam basement that we wanted to finish to increase our living space. Santos and his crew framed out, insulated, and dry walled the walls, leveled the concrete floor, installed new flooring (we went with hard-wood look laminate for durability), pot lights throughout the ceiling, all new electrical including new outlets, ran the wiring for and installed surround sound system, built new basement stairway, installed carpeting on basement stairs, in stalled a new a new hand-rail that they also stained the color we picked. Santos, John, and Mike showed us everything as they were working and not only did we have all and any questions answered right away and nothing went un-touched. The original work spec called for simply fixing a few broken basement steps but when it came time to do that Santos and his guys advised it best to rebuild the stairway entirely because of it's overall condition then they fear that other steps would go in the near future. So, at not additional cost our entire stairways was rebuilt and we can not express how gratefully we were to them for taking on that additional work with no extra charge, no work order change, all because they wanted to do a good job that they would be proud of. the work was completed on time and exactly on budget.
We can not say enough great things about our experience with Santos and Vega Builders! Outside of the tremendous job they did for us, Santos and his crew are just all-around great guys. Santos is super easy to talk to, like you've known him forever, you can ask anything of him or his staff without feeling intimidated or ignorant. Another nice thing is you are involved every step of the job as Santos and his crew keep you up to date with what they are doing. If you want a quality job, superb service, honest work and great all-around guys, give Santos a call.

After contacting a few contractors for estimates, it was clear that they just resurface the existing cabinets and the estimates were exorbitant.
We contacted Vega General Contractors, and made an appointment with Santos Vega.
We liked Santos immediately. Not only would he make us new cabinet doors, it would also include new hardware, and all of the painting associated with the project..
We also decided to have the desk removed from the kitchen and asked if he could remove it and replace it with 2 base cabinets with drawers.. The problem, we thought would be to match the corian countertop that we had installed years before! He assured us it would, and it did. The continuity of the counter top is undetectable. They did a wonderful job.
We also had him add 5 shelves for the pantry, with full extension drawer slides..
We are very pleased with all of Vega Builder's work. They were on time with the estimate, they did extra electrical and plumbing, and all in a timely manner at a reasonable cost..
We have used Santos and his team twice and both times had great results....between the quality of workmanship and pricing, we would not consider another company!
