After reviewing customer ratings across multiple consumer platforms, starting with Angie's list, I put together a list of potential contractors to hire for my project. Before pursuing cost estimates, I had to decide on which window brand I wanted to use for my new window installation and then the “type” of window to go with - wood vs. fiberglass. Once getting an initial quote from a local Pella showroom, I was less than impressed with the cost estimate, so I decided to get multiple quotes from several Pella authorized contractors. Nearly all of the contractors provided a better-cost estimate vs. the local Pella Showroom. I selected Pella fiberglass windows and doors because of its resistance to weather fluctuations - no warping. I also selected Pella because I previously selected the Pella brand for a new fiberglass front door installation a few years back and I have been very happy with the quality of their product. In addition, with both positive and negative feedback considered, Pella consistently had higher customer ratings than its competitors and they offered a lifetime warranty - another very important part of my decision to go with Pella. I selected Daily manufacturing to do my installation. After negotiating a final price for the project, my order was submitted to Pella manufacturing in mid June, with an estimated deliver timeline of 4-5 weeks. Unfortunately, due to NO control by Dailey Manufacturing, it took 11 weeks. Separate from the Pella windows and doors order, I hired Dailey Manufacturing to replace my basement windows with glass block windows from a local glass block company. Although the glass block windows were not ordered in mid June, just like the Pella windows and doors, the timeline for getting the glass block windows was a source of significant frustration. The glass block windows were not delivered and installed until late December 2019, 6 months after the Pella Windows and doors were ordered! The above-unexpected delays were significant and completely outside the range of what I expected, but I want to reiterate, Dailey Manufacturing was not directly responsible for either delay. Unfortunately, Pella was running behind on their manufacturing production schedule and provided a response that was also not what I would expect ... basically, they said "sorry, but it is what it is." With regard to the glass block windows, to be honest, I never really got a good explanation for why it took so long to receive delivery. Under normal circumstances, the above delays alone would be enough to cause a high level of frustration, but because I had several other home improvement projects scheduled during the same 6 month period, and because it took 11 weeks to have the Pella windows and doors delivered, it backed up every other project 5-7 weeks. Not a good situation, but I managed to get through it … make it work out in the end. Once the windows and doors arrived, the installation process went extremely well. The Dailey Manufacturing installation team did an amazing job. The onsite project manager (Pat) was simply OUTSTANDING. He was extremely skilled and knowledgeable about his craft and was focused on doing an excellent job with the installation. I am very happy to say that with all aspects of the process (except the timeline for delivery), Dailey Manufacturing did a fantastic job. Brian Dailey provided a fair price and managed the entire process from start to finish. But I can't say enough good things about the job done by the onsite project manager (Pat) and team with the installation - simply put, they were amazing. In closing, I highly recommend Dailey Manufacturing. They are a top quality Pella approved contractor that does amazing work. As frustrating as the delays were, my wife and I are extremely pleased with all windows, doors, trim and the basement windows installed by Dailey Manufacturing.
