No problems, this guy is a perfectionist!

This gentleman, James Engel, did such a wonderful, meticulous job for us ... he wasn't satisfied with his work until it was perfect. He took his time and the windows are beautiful. He trimmed each window with handmade molding and you should see the French Patio Door that Mr. Engel installed for us - beautiful! He managed to match the stain perfectly to the rest of our original woodwork in our home. I am updating this, May 19th, 2012 to inform readers of the problem windows which my contractor is replacing. Lowes sold these windows to us and I would warn anybody acquiring windows should not buy them from Lowes as the quality of these windows prove defective - even though they carry the Pella name. Unfortunately, Mr Engel (my contractor), had tofile suit against Lowe's Home Improvement regarding the Pella windows that were installed. The installation was perfect but two problems with the manufacturing of the Pella windows occurred. One, the top sashes were short (side to side) allowing air to enter the house and secondly the sills warped, creating a crown therefore not letting the screens close properly. Mr. Engel called Lowe's numerous times. and finally after about six weeks the Pella Rep, along with the Lowe's Rep came to my house to inspect the windows. The Pella Rep admitted the top sashes were short and took new measurements. He said he would order new top windows. Then, I showed him the problem with the sills and the screens. He had no answer to that problem and said he would have to get back to me on that. To date, no one has ever contacted either Mr. Engel or myself regarding the window replacements or the problem with the sills and screens. Mr. Engel is currently in the process of replacing theses windows with another brand of windows (not from Lowe's). My suggestions to anyone considering new replacement windows: Don't buy from Lowe's and stay away from Pella windows.
